This book (Brother Odd)  grabed my attention just like the other books in this series. This book was filled with mystery and suspense, with unexpected events. I can't wait until I am able to find out what his next adventure will be. The end was unexpected when Elvis left him to the other side.

Odd Thomas is one of those characters you can't forget. I discovered him in the quirky, touching, and sometimes chilling "Odd Thomas." I met him again in the darker, less heartfelt "Forever Odd." When I saw the dramatically colored cover of "Brother Odd," however, I was worried that Koontz would take our literary hero into the land of the ludicrous. I picked up the book with a fair share of concern.

"Brother Odd" finds Odd in a new location, seeking solitude and rejuvenation at a monastery in California's Sierra Nevada mountains. This isolated spot gives the story more tension, throwing a bunch...

"Brother Odd" is the third book in a series of books by Dean Koontz about a young man named Odd Thomas. You are not required to read the first two books ("Odd Thomas" and "Forever Odd") before reading this one, of course, but I believe you'd have a better understanding of the storyline.

Odd Thomas is a young man who has an extraordinary gift: he can see and commune with the spirits of dead people who, for some reason or another, are not ready to move on. Odd is also able to see bodachs, or shadowy malevolent spirits who thrive on violence and evil, and whose appearance signifies an impending tragedy....

This book is fantastic! Even though it is the THIRD in the series of Brother Odd ,you can read it and still understand the story as it explains about who Odd is,where he's come from,a bit about his past to help you understand him now.It smoothly blends in from book 1 into book 2 and then into book 3.Odd can see ghosts, demons, and a whole gambit of "creatures" from the... shall we say...DEAD ZONE?One he sees is the Bodach which signifies a great disaster with a huge death toll to come and he must figure out what that is and try to avert it,if at all possible. It's the good VS evil battle with...

Brother Odd puts Odd Thomas in a situation only he could resolve.  His ability to sense a darkness forthcoming from the spirits, or bodachs as he calls them, he sees is amazing yet terrifying.  The way he makes you laugh with his very polite but smart comments in normally terrifying situations is incredible.  He always keeps a light demeanor in the face of some very terrifying situations. He always addresses his adversary with gentle politeness and he is unwavering in his dedication to setting right the thing he has encountered that is wrong.  He fears, for his life at times, but he...

Brother Odd is one of my favorites in the Odd Thomas Series.  It has the classic elements of both a mystery and a thriller.  Odd Thomas is still rather young and the setting combined with his youth creates an innocence that makes the sinister evil that Odd faces all the more striking.

The placement of the story with religious Brothers on one side and Sisters on the other working together to protect disabled children adds a unique flavor to this book which helps give the book its title.

In reading the book I knew the Odd Series was really going to take off in an infinite possibility of directions. ...

The 3rd in a series from Dean Koontz, Brother Odd does not disappoint.  The story takes off from the beginning, I never wanted to put this book down.

Odd is still the lovable, sad, humble character you want to hug! There were many spots in the book that made me laugh out loud, and moments that broke my heart.

Koontz gets better and better scaring you with his "un-realities". They start to feel like the possibility could exist, the terror could be real, it could happen!

This third installment in the Odd series is a winner. I was slightly disappointed in the second book, but this one was, in my opinion, far better. It brought the excitement of the first book back. I hope Mr. Koontz continues to write about Odd Thomas. I am looking forward to his next adventure.

Dean Koontz is one of my favorite authors. Keep up the good work!

Although I enjoyed this latest installment in the Odd Books, this was not my favorite. It was of course entertaining and a quick read. It just didn't seem to have all the excitement and the character developement of the first two though. But if you are a Koontz fan or just a fan of mystery and characters, this is for you.
