Brother FAX-575 Plain Paper Thermal Fax. Every now and then we needed to fax something. We came across this one and bought it. The so called fax that came with the printer, with the computer, does not work well and is a pain to use. So we decided to get a fax machine. Price wise it was ok but I think for just faxing the price could be lower. Yes, it does copy and has a phone but not many people use a corded phone any more. So far every fax has gone through. We haven't used it enough to be in need of buying the print cartridge, which is pretty high. For 25 more we could buy the machine again....

I purchased this plain paper fax machine because it was compact and cheap.  It is great for a small office or any room where there is limited space.  It uses a thermal transfer ribbon cartridge instead of an ink cartridge.  Because it uses a ribbon cartridge, Brother is able to keep the manufacturing costs low.  The ribbon cartridge is easy to replace and will print up to 150 pages.
