My mother in law gave this sewing machine to me one Christmas. It has been amazing to start me on my sewing journey. It's a small machine that is great for basic sewing. Pros: Cheap and affordable. Great for beginners. Easy to use. Even with limited functions, there are a few options to make it a little versatile. Cons: It is very basic so you will have to eventually upgrade for bigger projects. Overall, I'd recommend this machine for anyone starting out their sewing adventure. It's great for smaller projects and simple patterns. It's a great sewing machine for the price.

I had been saying for some time that I wanted a sewing machine. As a new wife and mother, I wanted to be able to mend things and create new clothes. My husband bought this machine for me for Christmas in 2008. I have made many new outfits and mended many stuffed animals that were brought to mom's ER. My husband was in the Marine Corps and a deployment in his battalion came up. As I was one of the only wives that could sew, I was asked to attach name tapes to gear. It was difficult to find a needle that would not break but I finally did. I attached more than 100 name tapes and never had an issue with the machine. My husband left the Marine Corps and began work for immigration. They issue un-hemmed pants and so I was able to break out the machine and easily hem up his pants. I have the same machine and I have never had a problem one with it. Through Halloween costumes, mending, and finding new fashions, this machine has been the best! I got the sewing machine for Christmas and I'm absolutely in love with it. It is very easy-to-use and I highly recommended it for beginner sewers. I'm a self-taught sewer so not only am inexperienced with the machines but I also had to teach myself. This machine works great and is all that I need. Stitch Performance I wouldn't say that it's perfect but it stitches quite well. Like mentioned before I am a beginner so I'm sure there are tips and tricks that I will pick up to improve my stitching. Ease of Use I watched the instructional DVD and it hekoed tremendously. Once you figure out how to thread the machine, the rest is source of cake to work. Fabric Handling Very delicate with fabric. Versatility Very versatile as well. Two knobs control the size of the stitches and type of the stitches. There is another not for attention control. Very simple and versatile. Design I love the design. It is very user friendly and simple. Durability I haven't had my machine for very long but I love it so far.

My sewing machine broke down, so I borrowed this machine from a friend. It has been nice to work with, just a little lite. It movew a lot especialy when I am working on a quilt. The stich settings are easy to change and play around with, but don't think you can do anything really fancy with this machine. It's pretty plain jane get the job done Stitch Performance The regular stiches are nice, however the 'fancy' stitches you kind of have to do by hand- sliding the speed and stich distance levers to make waves, etc. Ease of Use Fairly easy to use if you are used to using a Brother machine Fabric Handling Has worked great with all fabric types I have used. Versatility Not great for bigger projects (like a quilt), but is a nice machine for a beginer Design A litte lite, it slides around a bit on my table top when I am sewing Durability It works well for now, but I believe with a lot of use it might break down easily

This is a really nice starter sewing machine, very simple to operate. This model is easy to thread, easy to change needles, easy to fill bobbins and has varying degrees of zigzag stitches, reverse is super simple. Very lightweight so easy to move from room to room and doesn't take up a lot of space. But you are definitly limited to what you can do or not do with this particular model. However once you learn to sew you get into various projects that will require different feet and different kinds of stitches. I bought ity for small projects such as hemming, repairing seams, small things like that. If you are wanting to put in zippers, buttons, buttonholes, darning then you will need a machine that has lots of different optiobs that come with the machine. I have looked all over for accessories for this machine so my grandkids could learn a few differnt projects but I have never found any accessories for this model brother sewing machine. Stitch Performance Simple and gets the job done. Ease of Use Awesome Versatility Its perfect for my abilities but others might want more options? Design Easy to guide thread and offers great lighting Durability Works great so far.

I have good intentions when I purchase fabric and all the other sewing essentials... yet my time is consumed with diapers and nap times.  I have used my Brother LS 2020 sewing machine a couple of times and found it adequate for my sewing needs... or maybe my sewing ignorance.  I'm currently looking at it... it is sitting on my table dining room table.  I'll have to move it by lunch tomorrow.  It looks so sad right now.  Just waiting to be used. The functions are perfect for my limited skill.  I'm not even sure I know what all functions it has...  it does boast 20 different stitch functions of which I've used maybe 2.  I'm excited for the day I'll be able to sit down and finish a project without someone screaming MOMMY!  But then I'll be sad that they no longer call me mommy and have started calling me a dork for trying to be crafty.  That would never happen, right?    Overall great quality for a beginner sorry for my digression.

I bought the Brothers LS2020 sewing machine for my daughter for Christmas 2 years ago because she was taking a sewing class in school and she just fell in love with sewing.A big # 1 on her List of best gifts ever!!! I was very impressed with the price of the machine because I thought I was going to spending a fortune on a sewing machine, that maybe she would use, but I got very lucky and the price was right in my range. Not only does it work well but it is very easy to use, she was sewing with it 5 mins after she took it out of the box not alot of gadgets to get it going, pretty easy to set up and start sewing!! Its not real heavy like alot of machines that I used to have either, very compact and easy to store. I bought a case to put it in thats the only thing I wish it had came with a case but all in all she was very happy with it and she uses it all the time. I would recommend this sewing machine and it is not very costly and a very good brand.

When I was looking for a new sewing machine I checked the internet for reviews and I shopped many stores. I only wanted a basic sewing since I mostly do mending and repairs anymore. I do not need all the fancy stitches like I did when I made my families clothing several years back. I wanted something that was very dependable and easy to work with. I choose the Brothers LS2020 sewing machine. It has all the basic features that I was looking and it was very inexpensive as far as price. It has an arm that you can slip your sleeves and legs over to make it easy to hem them. It is such a pleasure to sew with. The stitches are smoothe and you can set it for zig zag stitches with the turn of a knob. It is so easy to thread a new bobbin without taking your thread out. I really enjoy sewing with it. I would certainly recommend the Brothers LS2020 sewing machine to anyone who is looking for a simple to use machine with all the basics.

My husband gave me this sewing machine for Christmas a couple of years ago, and I know he paid hardly anything for it, because we had like no money...I love this sewing machine! It has served me very well with what I have needed it for. I could be a little off, but I believe I've made about five  shirts and one vest for my husband, two dresses and some skirts for my little girl, some baby clothes, and numerous fix-its. I keep my manual handy, so that I can reference it when I'm having trouble with the machine. It really helps me to be able to look at and read detailed instructions. I've been very impressed at the capabilities of this sewing machine! You would never know looking at it that you can sew on buttons, do button holes, and tons of other applique designs with it. Oh, it also has double stitching, which is great when you're making something heavy duty!This is a great sewing machine for the beginner seamstress!

I received this sewing machine as a Christmas gift a few years ago, but I just recently started to take advantage of owning one. I am an beginner when it comes to sewing, so I wouldn't even know what to do with some of the features the more advanced machines have.  What I do love about this machine is that it is very basic. It's so easy to thread the machine, to load the bobbin, and to change the needle. There have been a couple times the bobbin thread gets caught up and tangled, but usually, it is a very easy fix. I have the option of changing just a few settings: the thread tension, the zig-zag, and the stitch length, which are plenty for me.  With this machine, I have made a handful of quilts, I have made aprons, I have made repairs to clothing items, I have made stockings. I have not sewed anything elaborate or complicated, and I think that as my skill advances, I may think about upgrading to a more complex machine, but for now, this is PERFECT! I love it.
