Most HelpfulI think this a good movie, however I never thought I would see the day that society would allow such a movie to aired to the public.
I have seen these actors and actresses in other movies and I like the roles they play.
This movie captures the audience attention through out the movie and keep you in suspense....
read full review »First, I want to thank the courageous producers and actors for bringing such a meaningful and heartfelt story of enduring, "forbidden" love before the eyes of the American public. This movie reminds me of one of my favorite songs, "Open the Eyes of My Heart (Lord)." It really "tugs at the heartstrings" of the viewer and leaves us wondering how we could have been so blind for so long! With eyes wide open now, we can no longer ignore the echo of the trail of tears that flow down from Brokeback Mountain!
This gripping and powerful love story takes place in Wyoming where two men are hired to herd...
read full review »Bottom-Line: In the final analysis Brokeback Mountain is a stunning and provocative film and could not have been made and released at a more divisive time in American cultural history.
Let me preface this review by stating that watching two men make out makes me, well, squeamish, but that does not make me homophobic, I am anything but, but it does make me 100% heterosexual. There is no wiggle room in my sexual preference library; I am squarely a man who enjoys the opposite sex. I am convinced that the same cannot be said for most men, who have questions, consciously or unconsciously, about...
read full review »I'll admit it - I waited a while to see Brokeback Mountain. There was so much talk about the gay sex scenes. I really don't care for gratuitous sex scenes that do nothing to elevate the plot in any movie. How stupid did I feel when I actually saw the movie? VERY.
It's a love story, and probably a little more sappy than I would like. As for the "big, gay, sex scenes?" Oh, please. Get a life. I think if this story had been about a heterosexual couple, I probably would have shut it off. The thing that made it interesting to me was the challenges and issues facing the two men at that time. Ennis (Heath...
read full review »i was not sure if i wanted to see this film or not. It was based on two men watching over a herd. What convinced me was the simple fact it starred Heath Ledger.
I found the film to be very moving, a very touching film. the scenery was just beautiful, it was real and honest and the actors did a fantastic job pretraing their charaters.
This is not a film for everyone, but i do think if you go see this film with an open mind, and a loving heart you will fall in love with these two men and what inspiried between them.
This film is so moving and heart wrenching. Ignore the fact that these are two men. The whole forbidden love concept and the pain and suffering that is caused will tear your heart to pieces. The movie is done with so much compassion for these two tormented souls, that you want to see them together even if it means tearing their families apart. I really wasn't sure about the love scenes and how I would feel about them.
But they were done with so much passion and raw emotion that you don't see two men just two people who love one another despite the world. I was deeply moved and I enjoyed this...
read full review »The verdict is in... Brokeback Mountain is not just a gay cowboy movie. It is a powerful and passionate tale of forbidden love. Directed by Ang Lee (Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon), Brokeback Mountain is captivating, moving, and truly a tremendous masterpiece. Based on a short story by Annie Proulx, Brokeback Mountain is set against the breathtaking Wyoming Mountains (filmed in the Canadian Rockies of Alberta) in the early 1960's.
Ennis Del Mar (Heath Ledger) and Jack Twist (Jake Gyllenhaal) first meet while working together as sheepherders on Brokeback Mountain. They barely speak and spend...

Brokeback mountain was filmed in canada but id looked a like the west coast of the united states of america. It was to take place in montana i think or wyoming. but the scenery was very pretty and the back drop with all of the mountains in the back was very pretty. I would recommend this movie to anyone who would love gay cowboys.. and poor heath ledger who is now dead was a a very good even great actor with jake gillinhall as his longtime boyfriend. a great heartwarming stoiry...
read full review »I feel if someone hates a movie so strongly they didn't look deep into the meaning of the movie. A movie can mean many different things to each person. Try and see yourself in that persons shoes to see what you would do or how you would feel. I thought the movie was very good, but I didn't just look at it as 2 gay men. It was about 2 people that loved each other and could not display it one because they were gay or could have been from different race's or rich and poor. what ever the reason the love was real and many different people go through this type of love. On that note I am a married...
