budget-conscious traveler, adventurous, museum goer, world traveler
I missed the British Museum the first two times I went to England, but I managed to spend one day there during a short trip in 2007. I wish I'd had two or three days more to explore galleries I could only walk past with a regretful sigh. — — There is so much to see in this national treasure of England--but it's not just English history and art. Prepare to gaze upon ancient Babylonian sculptures two storeys high. Brace yourself for gallery after gallery of ancient Egyptian mummies, complete with intricately painted wrappings and multiple sarcophagi. Relish gazing into hundreds of…

It's where you…

Greek and Egyptian, Assyrian, Asian and African; you'll find it here. This museum features the Rosetta Stone, Egyptian mummies and African mosaics. It's enormous, and it's a very, very popular destination. Consider…

When I visited, I had no idea what I was about to see. I had been to some of the world's premier museums, but had never even heard of this one. I can't imagine why not. I had previously been to London and the museum included on my tour was the Victoria and Albert. Thinking logically, I was expecting that the museum not included on that previous tour to be the lesser, but that was far from the case (a good reason I normally don't take tours). …
