This seat has helped us delay the inevitable transition into a booster. According to our pediatrician, and a lot of research, preschool and kindergarten age children are often moved to booster seats too young. This seat is larger and stronger, and the extra cost is worth the peace of mind in knowing that my child will truly be of adequate height and weight when we do shift him to a booster seat! I used all the Britax seats for all ages and they are, by far, the sturdiest of the carseats!!!!!
