Britax Roundabout Review Summary

Value conscience parents, wanting a safe car seat for their children have chosen the Britax Roundabout car seat to carry their precious cargo. Being “the smallest of the Britax” car seats the Roundabout is “light weight” and “a breeze to install” as well as economical. Although it is easy to use, the Roundabout does have a puzzle lock style buckle that may turn some parents off. In reviews for the Roundabout, parents agree their children “get very cozy” in the seat. “The Britax Roundabout is a great car seat that grows with the child” up to 40 pounds and/or 40 inches which works well for parents wanting to use their Roundabout for additional children. Although other Britax models can hold larger children, the Roundabout fits in compact and mid-size cars easily. Much like every other parent here, when it was time to update my baby from his "infant" car seat, I went to every online review site to see what everyone had to say about the car seats I was interested in.

From a few local moms in my area, I was told the Britax was the best thing since sliced bread!! ...

Left to my own devices, I would have chosen a different car seat. However, before I put much thought into that decision, my unborn baby was gifted with a Britax Roundabout through her father's work. I felt fortunate to have acquired a car seat from such a prestigious company, and was confident Britax's...

I did a lot of research on baby gear while pregnant with my first child.  One of my major concerns was a car seat.  My child would be in the car daily going to and from daycare.  It is a short drive, but there are still plenty of other people on the road.  All car seats sold in the U.S. have passed U.S. safety standards, so I knew I didn't really have to worry about that.  My concerns were mostly about installation and adjustment of the car seat.  If a car seat is not properly installed, it may not work the way it should and it may become a dangerous piece of baby gear in the process.

After...

After lots of research, I bought this seat for my son when he outgrew his infant seat (at about 9 months old).  It was the best car seat we have ever owned!  It was so comfortable and fit so tightly in the car.  When I had it checked by professionals at a car seat safety check, none of them could believe how great this seat was.  We never had ANY problems with it at all.  My son just outgrew this seat and I bought him the Britax Marathon so he could remain in the 5 point harness longer.  I wish the Marathon was available before so we could have saved some money, but no cost is greater... review »

Our Britax Roundabout has survived two children and it still looks just fabo. Prior to purchasing it for our firstborn, we did MONTHS of research and talked to lots of safety people. Everyone concurred: although the Britax was expensive, it was also the safest. That was all we needed to hear to be sold.

When we purchased it, I didn't think to find out how to clean it. It is so very easy to take the entire system apart (takes about three minutes) and throw all of the covering and straps in the washing machine and dryer. We then anti-bacterial scrub the remaining plastic base and it's like our babies...

The Britex Roundabout is well worth the money you pay.  It is one of the highest ranked car seats on Consumer Reports for safety.  It is easy to install and use and can easily be transferred from one car to another without all the hassle.  The latch buckles are well designed and operate like a seat belt rather than a hook like many other latch car seats.  It is also a very comfortable seat with lots of padding.  It's so comfortable that my daughter would fall asleep and have a nice nap when we were driving places.

When trying to decide on a car seat for my daughter, we were clueless. Looking was a fiasco with all the different price points, accessories, etc, etc, etc. So, I decided to look online for ratings, and what was a necessity for a car seat to have. After a week of research, we went with the Britax roundabout. I didn't plan, or want, to spend that amount on a car seat, but I looked at it as an investment since she will most likely be in this seat until she hits booster age, and to be honest, can you really put a price on safety. This seat was very east to install. We have a vehicle that does not... review »

The baby (or should I say pre-schooler) just grew out of this one a half year ago.
It was the best car seat - ever!
Not only did I feel secure that my son was safely kept and comfy in this seat but it also provided him with an excellent view of the street, (which he didn't have in our other car seats) which kept him entertained and fuss free through out any ride, long or short.
It has extra cushioning, and a head guard (to support head for when the baby dozes,) and suspension under the chair; all which gaurantees a good sleep. Best in handy when baby is fussy, antsy, or having a hard time falling...

I wanted to review this product after reviewing the Evenflo Titan V, our other car seat, but its tough to find what to say about this car seat.  We have had this car seat for about 9 months now and much of that time it was used facing backwards.

The only bad things I can say about this car seat is that the straps have gotten twisted recently on us and it's base very tall.  Now that it is forward facing, its quite tall to haul our 25 lb baby up into in our Honda Pilot.  I can't imagine if I had a bigger SUV.

On the good side, the product is super easy to install with seat belts or Latch.  The...

We loved our Britax Roundabout while it lasted. It was passed on by a friend before it expired (and they do expire, even Britax!) and it was the most comfortable seat we've had for our daughter.

It's made of an extremely sturdy plastic and as for the comfort of the child, it is the most plush feeling seat you can find.

In terms of safety, it is one of the best options on the market with a five point harness system and anchoring but unfortunately, the price of the Britax brand makes it difficult for those with a limited income or budget.

Fortunately, there are other seats on the market that are...

We bought this seat when my grandson outgrew his infant safety seat.  I had researched online for seats and the Britax company name kept coming up with some of the best reviews.  We went to BabiesRus and checked out the convertable seats and we agreed with all the reviews!  This seat is comfortable, safe, easy to take care of, looks good and best of all EASY to install with both latch and seatbeat.  My grandson never cried when he was strapped in and usually fell asleep within moments of taking him anywhere.  The easy installation though was the kicker for us buying this seat.  We took the... review »

My breastfed daughter quickly exceeded the weight limitation of her infant seat.  I did extensive research on her next seat which would have to be a convertible as she was not old enough to face forward.  The Britax Roundabout was without a doubt the best rated seat in government research as well as in consumer reviews.  The only downside is the price - but it really is worth every penny.  I read some negative reviews that said the plush fabric would get to hot for their children, but I've never had a problem with this.  In the hot summer months when my daughter is in shorts, there is a little... review »

We bought our roundabout a year ago when my son outgrew his infant seat.  Unlike the cheaper car seats on the market, the britax was very solidly built.  It was almost as if it was constructed to be an airline seat.  We really liked that it was made in the USA, that was one of the major selling points for my husband and I after safety.  It was very easy to install once you got the hang of it.  I was able to install it in a rental car my self.  It is very easy to clean as we have had many messes in the back seat.  It is definately worth its weight in gold.

I researched carseats for hours on end when I was pregnant with my first child in 2005... and the Britax Roundabout always got rave reviews. We now have two Roundabouts for our daughters and I wouldn't have it any other way. Our girls have always seemed to be very comfortable in their carseats.

These carseats are easy to install, adjust, and clean. And the Britax carseat covers come in such neat colors and designs.

In order to save money, be sure to do some comparison shopping and look for carseats that have been discontinued.

The Britax Roundabout has been a *great carseat - we have owned it for 2 years, and plan to get many many more years of use out of it.  The fabric area is easy to take off and wash, and I have never had a problem with the strap that you pull to tighten the straps.  the only downside I would mention is that the fabric piece that goes over the buckle was not tight enough, and kept coming off when we took our son out of the seat - his legs would pull it off.  We would often find it on the ground or on the floor of the car, and then finally it came off and we didn't notice until too late, so it's... review »
