This is a great car seat for a 2-4 year old outgrowing their normal car seat. Personally, I am not a fan of the booster for a child this young-- they seem to test their limits around sitting. If you want to keep your toddler in a 5 point harness this is one of the only options available-- but...
Most Helpfulwe got custom covers made and my kids absolutely love it!.. it can hold a child to 80 lbs so its the last seat you will ever have to buy! much safer then those "belt positioning boosters"
the cost can be a problem if you are a military family on a tight budget like us so don't be afraid to buy used... these seats are a single molded piece so its easy to inspect for damage and other parts are replaceable.
it is hard to fit 3 seats across though... we have a Dodge Durango and have to put my 3 year old in the back row becasue they don't fit but in a Tahoe 2 regents and an infant seat will fit
I cannot say enough great things about this Regent seat! We still have our daughter's Marathon in my husband's car, but we found a great price on this, so we have it in our van. That being said, please know that this is a HUGE car seat. We affectionately call it "The Beast." We have it in the passenger captain's chair of our van and it fits without a problem. However, if you have a smaller car or sedan, I encourage you to go to the store and try it for yourself. I can tell you that the Regent does not fit in my husband's Saturn Aura.
Getting it in and out is a real chore. However,...

I also wanted something comfortable for long rides. My pediatrician recommended this seat. When we got it, we were surprised how large it is-- it is the size of our captains chairs. BUT, it is just as comfortable as the seats in our van. It is well padded and the suede like material cleans easy (we have had ketchup to chocolate milk and they still look new), is never hot or cold to sit on, and my girls can...
read full review »My daughter is 5 and outgrew a carseat that I loved. She is tall, but very thin and I did not feel comfortable putting her in a booster. This is one of the very few carseats that has a 5 point harness that will last beyond the height of a normal 4 year old.
This carseat is pricey, but in comparison to how often it is used and the safety it provides it is well worth the money. Also it is very roomy and she will be able to sit in it comfortably for a few years.
I have a minivan so space is not an issue, however I do not think it would fit in a car very well.

We love this carseat! We had the Britax infant carseat as well and noticed that our daughter cried a lot when we put her in it. She has stopped crying in the car altogether now that we have changed her into this carseat. Not only is it forward facing, but it also allows her to sit upright and see where she's going as well as look out the window. Some of the other carseats that we've tried out didn't allow her to sit as upright. She definitely prefers that position. If you have a fussy car rider, try this carseat. It will change the way your kid thinks of the car!
The only reason I didn't give it a 5 is
a.) price. It is wicked exspensive and they charge $80 just for replacement cover! b.) the install direction are confusing , depending on what year DOM it changes and just seem generally unclear. can be hard to fit in some cars
I love it for its ability to go to 80 pounds with the 5-point. its super easy to install once you've got it figured out. solid molded piece so you don't have to worry about...
read full review »I initiallly looked at the Britax Regent because we had used the Britax Marathon when our daughter was younger and smaller and were extremely well satisfied with it. When she was outgrowing the Marathon in height, we decided to move up to the Regent and haven't regretted it. While it is admittedly large and heavy, it is very safe and stable. Our little girl is comfortable in her Regent and will be for a long time to come; she still has several shoulder height positions to grow into. I am confident that it is the safest option for her, and while the price was high in comparison to other brands,...

I am the proud owner of two Britax carseats, and as far as I am concerned, they truly ARE the Cadillac of carseats.
This seat was almost too easy to install. It was so simple, I felt like that couldn't possibly be "it". But it was! The LATCH connectors have clicks similar to seatbelts, and easy to pull straps. I'm confident that the seat is installed properly, and it's not difficult to remove and install quick in another car, if need be. The tether anchor was also much easier to hook up than I anticipated. It's a great safety feature that only Britax has. The seat is large, but does not take up...

We absolutely love our Britax Regent. We got this seat for our then 4 1/2 year old daughter. She was outgrowing her other seat and we were not at all comfrotable putting her into a booster seat. We decided to keep her harnessed as long as possible and we knew the Britax Regent would deliver in that department. This seat was tricky to install in the begining. I had to find a car seat tech in out area (don't go to the fire department...please!!!) to help me out. I was just doing one thing wrong and when I figured it out I got an awesome, and very tight install. It took some time the...

This is the King of Car Seats - The Britax Regent is the highest weight 5-point harness seat on the market. Following in Britax's tradition of quality, safety, and features, this seat has it all. Many people don't believe that children up to 80 pounds need to be in a 5 point harness, but research has shown that the longer a child stays in the 5-point harness system, the greater the chances of survival and the lesser the chances of major injuries in car accidents. There is a reason that Race Car drivers wear 5-point harnesses ... it's because they are the safest. A booster seat only raises...
