Britax Regent —

I recently purchased a Britax Regent for my 3 year old son, and overall I am quite pleased with it.  I have 4 children ranging in age from 19 months and 25 lbs to nearly 8 years and 50 lbs, and this seat would work for any of them, which I find amazing.  My 2 younger ones fit at the lowest strap level, and the 2 older ones fit at the second level.  Even my oldest would have plenty of room to grow in this seat!  I am now regretting have belt positioning boosters for my 2 older children, as the regent would be much safer for them.

I found this seat quite easy to install, once I had lugged in to the car.  It is rather cumbersome, so if you need a seat that you can move from car to car easily, this is not it.  There are 2 reasons I did not give this seat 5 stars, and both are comparisons to my all time favorite car seat, the Britax Roundabout.  The regent has elastic on each side that is supposed to be for anchoring the straps out of the way while the child gets in.  However, the elastic is too high and far to the sides to be of much use.  I much prefer the velcro anchors in my roundabout.  I also do not care for the strap tightening mechanism of the regent.  It is a lever type that is a bit difficult to tighten and loosen.  Again, I much prefer the button mechanism of the roundabout.

Overall, I would recommend this seat and am pleased with my purchase.
