Britax Decathlon —
This seat is a cadillac of carseats. It has configurable pads, adjustable strap between the legs, and can front/rear face. It fit my large daughter and my tiny son excellently. It was easy to remove the covers to wash them and installed quite easily (including the top tether). I know there are good car seats out there and the one that's right for you is the one you'll use right every time. But this is an EXCELLENT car seat that you'll use right every time. AND, the biggest benefit is that for a large carseat, it comfortably fit in the tiny tiny backseat of our car. My kids never had an issue getting in this seat. It is plush, comfortable and relaxing. It may not be the inexpensive model, but it is a great value. You'll use this for multiple kids (within the expiration of course). When my daughter had to move up, we bought a second one for the other car. It was just that good. Shop around for coupons but you won't regret buying this seat.
