Britax Decathlon —
When I was searching for a bigger car seat, I wanted one with higher weight limits, my little guy is a big guy!!! I compared all 3 Britax car seats-the Marathon, Decathlon & the Roundabout. The Decathlon-middle priced of the 3 sold me!! The selling featurures were: adjustable harness buckle/crotch strap (the other two do not have this feature) comfort pads weight limits on the seat (33lbs rear-facing & 65lbs forward facing). We moved my son into this seat at about 10 months of age when he was still rear-facing and weighed 22lbs & was 30 inches tall. The seat is large but it fit fine into my minivan, I was also able to fit it into my mother's small Toyota Echo rear-facing-we had to move the seat way up but I could still sit in the passanger seat with it behind me @ 5'9" I'm not small!!! My son always seemed very comfortable in the seat. I turned him forward facing just after he turned 1-24lbs & 32 inches, now at almost 14 months he's still happy sitting in his Decathlon!! The LATCH system on the Decathlon is wonderful!!! We had a Graco infant seat and using the latch was very difficult, to both clip and unclip. We this car seat, I can quickly and easily get his seat in and out. When I put it in, it's simple to get the seat very tight-he's safe and I don't have a lot of work!! The only downfall of this seat, is the same I have experienced with every seat-the straps twist!! I will say the Decathlon's untwist much easier than all others.
