Britax Decathlon Review

After MANY, MANY hours of research on the internet and asking everyone I know with a child about car seats, I finally settled on getting a Britax Decathalon.  It had some of the highest ratings on every site I visited.  Britax in general was always rated at the top in every single category - safety, comfort, quality, etc.  I do not regret my decision one bit!  In fact, after having this car seat for a very short amount of time my husband and I both agreed it was well worth the money to buy another Decathalon.  We have since bought a Marathon as well (for a friend's car - we would have gotten another Decathalon but they needed something smaller).  So we both have a Decathalon in our car and it is wonderful.  We started out just after our son was no longer able to fit safely in the carrier/click in base model.  All of the padding and 5 point harness make this seat so safe and you are able to snugly fit a small to large child in it - just add or remove the padding accordingly.  I love that this seat can start out rear facing which is what we did.  We have since moved it to forward facing and it's still fully functional and great.  We do have problems with the straps twisting sometimes but they flip right back.  I especially love the cushions on the straps.  They aren't bulky so they aren't too much around my son's face but they protect his neck from the straps digging in.  My son always seems very comfortable and more importantly, I don't question the quality of the seat or his safety!!!  Spend the $$ now.  After all this seat will last you all the way to 65 lbs.!
