Britax Decathlon Car Seat Review Summary
Britax Car Seats are known to be top of the line in safety and one of the only car seat brands allowing parents to keep children safe in a 5-point harness up to 65 pounds. Owners of the Britax Decathlon overwhelmingly agree it is the best convertible car seat and well worth every penny. According to reviewers, “the Decathlon is incredibly simple to both use and install.” What sold most parents on choosing the Decathlon over other Britax models? “Adjustable harness and buckle/crotch strap” that other models such as the Marathon do not have as well a “plush and roomy” design. A note to those wanting to use the seat rear-facing; the seat may not fit in smaller vehicles. Regardless of the price reviewers state “it is so nice to know my son is safe and COMFORTABLE.”

— The time had come for a brand new ride, for my daughter that is...Britax/ Romer manufacturers US imported public transit seating, so I felt confident they knew a thing or two about the carseat business. — — You Want How Much for This? What makes a carseat worth parting with $290.00? — To me, it's a combination of the following things: — *Versa Tether belt (an extended safety lead that secures your carseat to the car chassis) — *Comfort foam and EPS (expanded polystyrene) industrial grade protective foam. — *Infant Positioning…

i think this is a good car seat, dependable, stylish. it is very handy. and it can hold up to 65 pounds and is very easy to move from car to car. i would most likely recomed the product to family or friends. i would use is with our next child and there after. i am just not to happy with the way it doest fit in to small compact cars. if you have a small car i would not recomend this product to…

When I was searching for a bigger car seat, I wanted one with higher weight limits, my little guy is a big guy!!! I compared all 3 Britax car seats-the Marathon, Decathlon & the Roundabout. The Decathlon-middle priced of the 3 sold me!!
The selling featurures were:
adjustable harness buckle/crotch strap (the other two do not have this feature)
comfort pads
weight limits on the seat (33lbs rear-facing & 65lbs forward facing).
We moved my son into this seat at about 10 months of age when he was still rear-facing and weighed 22lbs & was 30 inches tall. The seat is large but it fit fine…

looks for comfort for the kids, married, parent of toddlers, suburban parent, safety conscious, experienced parent, Safe on the road, Every day computer user
We got this car seat as a replacement for our Graco SnugRide. I really thought that we were going to hate loosing the convenience of just popping the carrier out of the base and carrying our daughter in without disturbing her, especially when she falls asleep. The truth is that she's so much more comfortable in the Britax than she ever was in the Graco that she sacks out completely and almost never wakes up when we take her out. Being somewhat safety obsessed, we kept her car seat in a rear-facing position until just before her 3rd birthday. In the end, the decision to turn it around wasn't…

safety conscious, frequent driver, looks for comfort for the kids, willing to pay for quality
The Britax is very well made. I have a few other carseats for members of the family and for our 2nd car that I hate now that I have used this seat. The cushioning is softer & much more comfortable than the other seats and the straps are a lot sturdier so they don't tangle as easily. My son is always comfortable and warm. It is easy to install which leaves less room for errors. It tethers rearfacing. It will last until my son is 65 pounds so it is a very good value if you consider how many seats most people will purchase in that amount of time. — My car was hit (empty, parked on the…

I know this is a pricey seat, but it is worth it. It is super safe, and even if you are lucky enough to never have a wreck and need the safety features it is super comfortable. My 18 month old doesn't even mind car rides now because she is so comfortable. A super great feature of Britax is that any single part on their carseats is available on their website. That means if a strap gets messed up, a buckle breaks, etc., you won't be forced to buy a new…

The decathlon is our 3rd Britax seat. We only buy Britax. I did a lof of research online and talked to friends. We chose the decathlon because it was big and goes up to 65 pounds. It is very easy to install. They are soft and have great designs. Ours is pink and green and very girly. We move it between my car and my husbands and it's very easy to move from car to car. Overall we are very pleased with it. —…

I never thought spending that much on a car seat would be worth it, but I was wrong. My daughter loves to get in her car seat now, because it is so comfortable. Plus I'm not the best driver in the world so I needed to get the safest car seat I could find, and this one seems to be the best. I checked out many and read many reviews that this one too. —…

The Britax Decathlon is so plush and comfortable. My child loves her seat. The best features are the soft suede-like fabric and the velcro tabs on the belts to hold them out of the way while you put your child in the seat. My one complaint is that the release button to loosen the belts is difficult to…

My husband bought the Britax car seat for my daughter and was over the moon about it. He recommended I try it...needless to say I moved it into my car the same day. Now we are a 2 child family and own 4 Britax car seats (2 in each car). I would never own another brand!! Highly recommend! —…

I loved this sea when my daughter was small and in rear facing position. Unfortunately when we went to turn the seat around after a year it wouldn't install properly in our car. That is the only reason I gave it four stars. This is a great seat…
