Britax is the best of the best when it comes to car seats, and you get what you pay for - and the Britax Companion Infant Seat is no exception. While not the most expensive on the market, they are pricey. But with features like Hugs protection straps, TSIP head protection, and the optional low weight birth foam insert (contact Britax to purchase), this seat is the most versatile, safe, easy to use seat on the market. It was a sad day when my two little ones both outgrew this seat. The base is easy to install using Latch straps, or use the seatbelt with or without the base. Very convienent when travelling with a friend or other family member - you don't have to move the base to continue to provide excellent safety for your little one. The base has a stability bar to provide even more safety protection. The covers wear extremely well, are machine washable, and very durable. Use this seat with a Britax stroller to make a wonderful Travel System. The straps are easy to adjust for growing baby, and the shoulder and belly pads provide even more comfort and protection. The Companion also has a sun shade that works great for protection from all elements - sun, snow, wind and rain. The optional low birth weight foam insert is for little ones weighing under 7 pounds. Perfect for preemies, it supports their little bodies so the straps fit across them in just the right spots. It goes under the cover to create a safe cradle for your precious cargo. It worked great for my 4-pound preemie, and it was such a peace of mind to know that this already super safe seat had taken his needs into account to keep him safe.
