Britax Boulevard Convertible Car Seat (regal)
I've purchased this britax boulevard over a year ago for 250 USD with free shipping form a website. My son wouldn't fit into graco snugride infant car seat comfortably anymore when he was 9 months old at 90th percentile, so I decided to buy a convertible car seat thinking of the future. I searched for the most safest, easy to use car seats. Britax is rated as the number one safest by many resources including consumer reports. So I got the best of the britax line which is boulevard for its added "true side impact protection".
Installation takes only couple minutes. I have a jeep liberty. I only use the latches. Britax boulevard provides the most secure latch system because of its two separate push button latch connectors. Since the two LATCH connectors are separate (unlike the other car seats including Cosco alpha omega elite, Evenflo triumph, Eddie bauer etc) once you install the car seat, even only by using these LATCH connectors, the car seat doesn't move at all.
My baby is very comfortable in it. Once you tighten the harnesses snugly, his head doesn't hang forward while he is sleeping. It has a literally tangle free, 5 point harness with easy adjustment. Can be used from 5 pounds baby up to 65 pounds. The plush seat cover is removable and washable. I washed it several times; no fading or any other damage so far. It has a cushony protective fabric guard under the seat buckle which prevents from any possible pinching while you are fastening and keeps the baby comfortable.
We also bought a second car seat for our second car which we do not use it primarily. This second car seat is Alpha Omega Elite Convertible for about 130 USD, and I can see the difference. This one will never fit as secure as britax boulevard to my jeep liberty.
