When doing the review for the Britax Boulevard, my husband (who was a certified carseat technician at the time) asked many of his carseat tech friends for recommendations on carseats. We believed that this seat was the safest option available. It was expensive, but when it comes to safety, price is no object. The carseat has True Side Impact Protection (which will protect your child in a side impact collision).
Aside from the safety features, which are obvious & easy to read about on the Britax website, as a mom I have found this carseat to be the best purchase ever. The cover is removable, and washable. It has been washed many many times, due to my son's severe reflux. The 'wings' that provide the side impact protection, have become little headrests for my son when he falls asleep. The seat is very easy to install (I have done it myself multiple times and have met my husband's professional approval). And after 4 years, the carseat still looks like new (no fading, tearing, etc). It has really held up exceptionally well.
The weight limit goes to 65 pounds... so at that rate, my carseat will expire before my 4 year old outgrows it.
The only downside to this carseat is that you do have to remove the carseat from the car, and undo the straps to get the cover off to wash it. But, after doing it once, it's very easy to do.
I highly recommend this carseat to anyone with a child.
