Perfect for the College Dorm

5

I bought this for my college dorm-sized refrigerator, and I could not be happier with it. It fits perfectly in my fridge, does not leak, and provides me with the freshest, cleanest water to drink and make food. I do not find that I have to replace the filter as long as it had said, which saves me money not only on bottled water, but on the filters as well! I am so pleased.

Brita Pitchers make for healthier drinking water.

What can I say about Brita Water Filter Pitcher/Systems, that is new, and interesting. We have had several over the years, and our Space Saver one, finally broke, after it had been dropped several times, on Sunday. The last straw was when it fell off the cart twice, when taking our stuff into our timeshare. I can't tell you how many times something happened to it, and it always continued to work. We buy the filters, and change them, at the required time. We always have great tasting water, and don't have to rely on buying bottled water, which costs more and isn't good for the environment. We had no choice but to go out and buy the Brita Classic Model Pitcher, but were able to use the filter from the Space Saver one. A product I would never be without.

This is a water filter that improves the taste of tap water.

The Brita filter is an ideal unit for anyone who has tap water that is less than palatable. It removes just enough minerals and chemicals to produce a great tasting glass of water. And the taste remains good even if the water becomes tepid, whereas, in my case, tap water was acceptable when cold, but kind of foul when it warmed up. The unit is not to be confused with a water purifier, and is not sold as such. But it does eliminate some unwanted elements that show up in most tap water. I received the unit as a sample, originally, but bought replacement filters to continue using it. And the cost is somewhat reasonable, especially if one buys bottled water.

Brita Space Saver Water Filer Pitcher - I'm A Big Fan!

5

I love, love, love this Brita Space Saver Water Filter Pitcher. It is a real answer to a big annoyance that I've experienced for the last 10 years. I'll explain in a bit, but I wanted to tell you first, that this Brita Space Saver is a dream; it fits snug inside my frig and offers just enough liquid for quick drinks that my children need throughout the day. This space saving size doesn't hold a lot of water (6 cups) so it does run dry within a day (between my 3 boys drinking it dry), but it also fills up super quickly so you can fill it as you see it's getting low and it's not a major production. The Brita Space Saver Filter Pitcher has a built in filter change indicator to remind you when to change the Brita pitcher filter cartridge. But what I love is that it reduces lead, mercury, copper, cadmium, zinc, dirt, sediment, and the bad taste and odor of chlorine - and to me that's the most important "perk" of all. See, I am a picky girl, I hate to admit it, and that rings true even for what water I like to drink or serve to my family. I have city water, and although it has passed the "clean" tests that our city performs each year - in my opinion our water is gross and has a funny taste. Now this may just be my pipes, but my mom says the same thing is true at her house. I have to run my water several minutes before using it for drinking or food - and even after that I still get heartburn. So a few years back, I installed in a faucet style filter for my kitchen sink. The problem with that, it really restricted my water pressure and was a pain to use because of this. So after a few years we removed it, and began using these Brita Water Filter Pitchers. The old ones were always too big for the refrigerator; especially with our average frig but big family. Many times my frig is so stocked there no room for a water pitcher of any kind. This Brita Space Saver Pitcher is the perfect size; in fact, I purchased two of these and use one to keep lemonade in. I just filter the water thru the pitcher like I normally would, and then added the lemonade mix into the pitcher itself (not thru the filter) and stirred it up. I love this Brita Space Saver Water Filer Pitcher and can highly recommend it! It doesn't hurt that it's priced nicely too and on occasion you can find coupons for the pitchers as well as the replacement filters. I'm a fan, Brita!

Space Saver design really works.

The water doesn't taste all that great to me out of the tap, so I use a Brita filter to improve the taste. All Brita pitchers basically work the same way. There is a reservoir on top which hold incoming water from your tap. There is a filter at the bottom of the resevoir which filters the water as gravity pushes the water downward. It amazes me that there are so many different varieties of pitcher which adapts this same basic idea. The Space Saver pitcher is different from their classic pitcher in that it is rectangular instead of round. This makes fitting the pitcher into a refrigerator door easier. I have also found that fitting in the pitcher in the refrigerator even on shelving easier as well as the flat sides take up less space than the round ones. My only concern with a pitcher such as this is that it is made out of plastic. I am suprised that it marketing a product that is intended to appeal to people concerned with what is in their water, that the manufacturers did not consider the implications of using a pitcher made of plastic. Plastics may improve and become BPA free but scientist are discovering new chemicals leaching from plastic all the time. I would like to see Brita make a pitcher made from glass. Not only would it be made from something recyclable but it would also prevent any contamination of the water.

Wonderful Water Filter

5

At least twenty years ago while visiting my daughter in England where my second grandchild was born, the doctor had told her not to use the tap water there to use a Brita water filter. The water there he suggested might not be good for her new born. She used the pitcher for the three years they were there and her family never had any stomach or bowel problems. Today some twenty years later I purchased a Brita Space Saver Water Filter Pitcher because I am on a well and am a little affraid of what might be in the water I am drinking. Although there is no odor or taste to the water that comes from my well I am more confident using the Brita Water Filter and I have a little more faith in it because twenty years ago it was recommended by a doctor for purifing the water of a new born. I also like that this little pitcher is a very easy and economical way to filter your water.

Fits Great in the Fridge

I have been using Brita pitchers for years. I had a round pitcher in the past, but it took up a lot of room in the fridge. I was very happy to get a new Brita Space Saver Water Filter Pitcher. It's nice and slim and fits much better in the refrigerator. I love being able to get nice clean filtered water instead of buying expensive bottled water, and the water that has been filtered through the Brita pitcher tastes great. I only have two complaints about it. The top doesn't always stay down tightly, so sometimes after I fill it with water some of it sloshes out as I'm carrying it to the fridge. The second thing is that little specks from the filter often get through into the water pitcher and then get poured into the glass I'm drinking out of. Overall I'm very happy with it though.

Great tasting water

4

I bought the Brita space saver water filter because we recently moved to the city and I do not like the taste of the city water. I was buying 2 jugs of water a week and got tired of it so I invested in the water filter system. I like the design, it fits well in the refrigerator without taking up as much space as a gallon jug of water. Previously I thought our water and even ice cubes made from our tap water tasted like dirt but when filtered through the Britta is tastes fresh and clean. The only thing I do not like about this particular design is the lid. When pouring the water into a glass I have to hold the lid on with my other hand because it does not fit on tightly and will fall right off so you have to use two hands to pour out the water. I will probably just put the filtered water into another container for use but that does defeat the space saving purpose. When I compared the price of the filters to the Pure brand I found the Brita to be less expensive.

Good tasting H2O

Brita 42364 Space Saver Water Filter Pitcher {Brita} is one good way to get good tasting water. The design of the pitcher is attractive and fits nicely in the frig. The concept is simple, insert a filter then fill up pitcher with water. Upon using for the first time make sure you throw out the first couple of pitchers of water to allow the filter to acclamate to the pitcher. You will notice tiny particles are released when using the new filter. After a few times then water is suitable to drink. I personally do not own this product. My mom owns one and I have been caring for her so I use this pitcher quite often. This product is ideal for my mom since she is elderly and drinks a little water every day. The Brita 42364 Space Saver Water Filter Pitcher {Brita} for me is not cost effective. I drink alot of water so I am constently refilling the pitcher. Which means it takes a while for the water to get cold. Also it is recommended that the filter be changed out every few months. The filters are and added expense. In my opinion, Its cheaper to refill your gallon jugs. All in all this is a good product.
