The best deal in performance tires

Overall
Rated 4 out of 5

The Bridgestone Potenza RE92 has been a good value in a performance tire for several years. I now have two different sizes of this tire on two different cars - both Subarus - and I also had this tire on my old Audi 5000.

My 1995 Subaru Legacy wagon had cheap tires on it when I bought it with 77,000 miles on the odometer. The tires soon needed to be replaced and I wanted something that would firm up the car's mushy handling, so I replaced the 185/70-14 non-performance tires with H-rated Potenza RE92 195/60-14 tires. As I expected, this firmed up the car's handling and did it without sacrificing comfort and noise.

(An H-rating is the lowest of the true performance tire ratings. The other p...

Noisy, noisy, noisy!

Overall
Rated 1 out of 5

Do not use it for any volvo. It's very noisy. I was considering selling my car because it got an annoying noise. Guess what, the mechanic advised me to switch to a real good brand tire, so I replaced Potenza only after 15 k miles and no more noise. Do not recommend for Volvo owners anything other than Michelin.

fair price/performance for an all season tire

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

the potenza handled great in wet or dry weathers.  also great on paved, gravel or dirt.  mud depends a bit on your vehicle.  slight ice patches or light snow is alright.  my problem is the heavy snow that i get up in north country ny.  i play it safe and get snow tires w/o studs for the winter.  bought mines a few years ago and traction is still great at 95% still.  i use the car on a daily basis (5-170) miles depending on where i need to go.  it has a bit of noise compared to the michelin's that i had before.  it's not that bad though until my rims got a bit dented.  then it was really noisy.

Bridgestone Potenza 'safety first'

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

I purchased a set of four Bridgestone Potenza tires about a month ago. I have already had to drive in sever weather on them. We have had several hard rain storms and i have never felt better about a set of tires on my care. I live in Florida and after it rains the roads become very slick and sometimes very unpredictable, but with the Bridgeston Potenza tires on my car the car handeled like i was driving in perfect weather.I had a car pull out in front of me at the last second and i had to hit the brakes pretty hard. With the Potenza tires on my car it was no problem, I jammed the brakes and never lost control of the car. I steered the vehicle to safety and pulled off the road to regain my composure and thats when i realized that i had avoided an accident because off the Bridgestone Potenza tires. They also look better on my car then the old tires that i had replaced. I have always taken tires for granted but never again, Thank you Bridgestone

Good tires, if you dont mind replacing them often.

Overall
Rated 3 out of 5

I had a hard time deciding on whether to choose 3 or 4 stars.  If possible I'd rate this a 3.5.  It's not a bad tire.  It has excellent dry weather traction thoughout it's lifetime, and is a quiet tire throughout it as well.  It has good wet and snow traction, until it gets closer to the end of it's service life.  It has equally good ride characteristics, giving your car a sporty feel without having sidewalls so stiff that your fillings fall out.   Internally, the Potenza RE92 features twin steel belts reinforced by spiral-wrapped nylon belt edge strips (for H-speed rated sizes) or a full spiral-wrapped cap ply along with single belt edge str...

Noisy.

Overall
Rated 3 out of 5

These came factory on my Subaru WRX sedan. A decent all around tire on an all wheel drive car, however Bridgestones in general are noisy tires and transmit a bunch of road noise into the cabin. Grip and wear were above average though. If I bought a car with a set of these on it I wouldn't be looking to replace them, however I wouldn't seek them out either. I have had good luck with Toyo Tires when replacing worn out sneakers and will most likely stick to those.

Good solid ride

Overall
Rated 4 out of 5

The Potenza wasn't what I planned to purchase, but I could not find a tire dealer in my area with the tires I had in mind. I've heard of Potenzas, before, so I went with them. I've only had them a week and it hasn't snowed, yet, but they provide very solid traction in rain. The ride is smooth, too.

safely drive in rain or snow

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

Is your tires safe in winter? They can be if it's soft rubber and the right tread is there. If you get moving, you want to be able to stear your vehicle when you start moving. You do not want the solid bar down the middle of the tire, as that can cause the car to plane on top of snow or water. A soft tire grips better. Not a high milage tire, but a whole lot safer, and less expensive in the long run.

road grippers extraordinare

Overall
Rated 4 out of 5

I traded my four wheel drive for a sporty little economy car to save gas money.  So far, so good.  Then winter hit and I was sliding all over the road.  I didn't have a clue about what snow tires to get so I trusted the tire shop guy.  And I am glad.  These tires are fantastic.  I can pull out onto the snowy road and they struggle for a second to grip the road but then off we go.  Then even do pretty well on black ice.

Wow, great handleing.

Overall
Rated 4 out of 5

No tire noise, quiet ride, great handleing.  Rides like the wind, smooth, safe handleing.  Looks great, styleish, trendy,  The price for such quality is truly remarkable.  If you need a tire that handles well, looks good, is the latest trend, then this is the tire for you.  Save money, better handleing, looking good is the sign of the times.

Excellent Traction! Felt safe in the icy weather.

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

I got these tires right before all the ice and snow hit in Kansas.  These tires were great. I had excellent traction while others where all over the road.  I actually felt safe with these tires on my car. I would recommend these tires to anybody and everybody, especially my friends.
