I got a diagnosis of spinal stenosis which has to do with the spine and causes pain in my hips. Surgery is an option. I'm not ready for it. At the recommendation of two separate people I went to Brian Whidden a Licensed Acupuncturist & Herbalist. He does acupuncture on me and I take Chinese herbs at his recommendation. I've been seeing him for perhaps a year or more.

Brian works out of his house in a low key and comfortable environment. He has two rooms in which he works. During my first visit he took a complete history. It was very thorough. I was impressed. From then on he worked on me with needles. One week's needle placement is often different than another. The first consultation was about 1 1/2 hours and cost $100. Then it was $55.00 for about an hour or so. He now charges $65.00.

"Brian graduated from the New England School of Acupuncture (NESA) in 1995 and completed a certificate program in Chinese Herbal Medicine from NESA in 1996. Brian holds a Master's degree in both Chinese and Japanese style of Acupuncture. Brian treats adults as well as children, and specializes in infertility, gynecological disorders and pain conditions." http://www.acuherb.net

"Acupuncture has diagnosed, treated and prevented illness for over two thousand years. It can remedy ailments; enhance recuperative power, immunity and the capacity for pleasure, work and creativity. More specifically, Acupuncture involves the insertion of needles into the body at specific points which has shown to be effective in the treatment of specific health problems.

These acupuncture points run through our body’s meridians which are in effect, energy pathways. This energy- called Qi (pronounced chee) - is dispersed in areas of excess and gathered in areas of depletion by the needles. This allows for proper function of muscles, nerves, vessels, glands and organs."

Brian has helped me. I believe you have to believe and I do. I've been in excruciating pain in the past. Since I've been seeing him I'm not and surgery is not happening anytime soon.
