Breyers Light Immunity Boost Nonfat Yogurt —

I have low blood sugar and lately I have been suffering attacks that are more frequent.  My doctor advised me that I need to eat more foods that are low in carbohydrates (starch and sugar) and high in protein and to eat six or seven small meals or healthy snacks a day.  One specific food he mentioned was yogurt.  I was at the grocery store and spotted Breyers Light Immunity Boost Nonfat Yogurt for .50 a piece.  This product not only gives me the protein that I need, it also provides other health benefits.

About Breyers Immunity Boost Light Yogurt...

This non-fat yogurt contains natural Probiotics that are "friendly" bacteria primarily found in the digestive tract.  Studies have shown that probiotics are "microscopic workhorses" that seem to be useful in improving the immune system, reducing cholesterol levels, treating intestinal bowel disorders, protecting against allergens, treating illnesses, preventing some cancers and even warding off tooth decay.

The yogurt also contains 50% fewer calories and 70% less sugar than the leading low fat sweetened yogurt.  Also included are 6 grams of protein, 240 mg's of potassium, Vitamin A, C and D.  There are 80 calories in a 6 oz. container.

What I think of it...

I have tried several flavors of this yogurt including Strawberry Cheesecake and Peaches 'N Cream.  I thought they were both creamy and flavorful.  The added small chunks of fruit gave the flavor an extra little boost.  The container is a bit small to just eat alone for my purposes so usually I have a few crackers with some Smucker's Natural Peanut Butter too.  I appreciate the health benefits that I am getting with this yogurt and really like that I'm not paying extra for it.  The only concern that I have is with the artificial sweetener Aspartame that is added.  There are conflicting reports about whether or not this sweetener is safe.  Recent studies do show that in small quantities it is healthy to consume.

My Final Viewpoint...

Breyers Light Immunity Boost Nonfat Yogurt is beneficial to my health, tastes good, and is affordable.  I recommend this product to others and am giving it a 4 star rating.  I would have gone with 5 but because the jury is still out on the affects of Aspartame, I felt I should remove a star.

Don bought Danon yogurt with that stuff in it and it was ewwwwwwww. I think I will have to try this. I am trying to cut down (and off) on aspartame but a cup of this can't have too much in it. If it has no funky aftertaste, I'm going to buy some.
