Breville BTA820XL 2-Slice Toaster — 

Incident or hazard description = I recently purchased a Breville 2 slice Smart Toaster Model # BTA820XL. The second time I used it, the bread in the toaster caused a fire which required me to use a fire extinguisher to put it out. There were flames one foot high shooting out of the toaster which could have easily caused a house fire had I not caught it in time. However, it did make quite a mess in the kitchen. I've burned toast before, but it has never led to a fire. Despite the Safety Recommendation attached to the cord, THIS TOASTER IS DANGEROUS AND SHOULD BE PULLED OFF OF THE MARKET. I'm also reporting this incident to the Consumer Product Safety Commission. --
