Breed Crested Gecko —

Wow, where to begin! These lizards are about one of the easiest lizards you can take care of! They don't require a "heat" source! Just a tall tank, (I have a 40 gallon tall tank), a tree branch to climb up, a lid (duh!), a log to lay under, indoor/outdoor carpeting, and maybe a food dish, and a lamp, that should only have a 40 watt bulb in it, on during the day light hours only! We got started on Crested about 2 years ago! They are a bit pricey to start out with, ($40-100+) but can (okay, should) live between 15 - 20+ years! We currently have three, and lucked out that we have 2 females and 1 male. You can not "sex" this breed until they are about 1 year old! The males are very territorial, so 1 per tank is standard. BUT again, they can not be sexed until they are about a year old!Standard pet stores sell these, and they are usually very knowledgeable about the age, and what they will eat. I buy a crested gecko powder that I mix with water, and then add some baby food (fruit flavored) to help them get the fruits that they would out in the wild. Also, we have a 35 gallon long, and I buy 1,000 crickets every 5 or 6 weeks, and they (the 3 of them) go through about a dozen every 2 days!  I also use a calcium dust on the crickets, which I gut load at home with calcium food, so that the crested get a decent amount of calcium! Well, I could go on for a while long, however, if you have any questions, feel free to email me!

pretty good caresheet

buuut

they should not get the fruit mixed in with the crested gecko diet the diet is all they need

the fruit can be added as an occasional treat though

and they should not be getting that many crickets they only need crickets once a week and actually do not need them at all of you dont want to feed them crickets

all they really need food wise is the crested gecko diet(cgd)
other than that it is a great care sheet
