A mess of a book

The fact that readers consider Breaking Dawn quality writing makes me sympathize with today's English teachers.  The book is easy to read because Meyer's writing is as mature as a freshman's, and there is no depth to the story.  We have 400 pages of buildup to... nothing.  Literally.  They prepare for a battle the entire book, that NEVER happens.  The scenes with Bella's daughter are cute, but overall the book lacks substance.  The birthing scene is beyond disturbing, and after it Bella goes from being hopelessly insecure to incredibly vain.  Are we really sending our daughter's the right message by telling them it takes super human strength and immortality to feel good about yourself?
