First of all, I am not a coffee drinker. My wife is also not a regular coffee drinker. My husband and I purchased the Tassimo when I had to give up caffeine because I was breastfeeding. The Tassimo is the perfect solution, as he can have a cup or two of good Starbucks or Gevalia coffee in the morning when he gets up, and I can have a cup or two of decaf later in the morning when I get up, and we don't waste half a pot of coffee. — The Tassimo brews one cup of beverage at a time. I had been looking for a coffee machine for a while, a regular pot was out of the question, and I wasn't impressed with the machines that make coffee directly into the travel mugs. One visit with a friend who has this machine and I was sold; she made a perfect cappuccino in less than two minutes. The best part of this system is the variety I am a huge cappuccino fan, and for the price of 1 cup of Starbucks you can buy a pack of Maxwell house which will make 8 cappuccinos they have 8 milk discs and 8 espresso discs. I was lucky enough to receive my Tassimo years ago as a trial user, it was sent to me in the mail with a few of the Latte and Cappucino packs for me to test and see how it worked and if I liked it. I have never been happier with a coffee maker! For the price it is a fanatstic deal especially when you have guests or have different tastes in the house, or if you are single. It makes one cup at a time so there is no waste and it can do everything from tea and hot chocolate to fancy little cappucinos. I received this machine as a Christmas gift two years ago and absolutely love it. I have tried several of the coffee T-Discs available, some of the teas and the hot chocolate. The cappucinno is my favorite. There is a small issue with the cappucinno milk T-Disc. For some reason the disc is still full of liquid after using it and if your not careful taking it off, the milk/water dribbles out of the disc. I have not had this problem with the latte milk discs though. There is a cleaning disc provided to rinse the machine between drinks so your tea doesn't taste like coffee. Before Tassimo I was a plain cup of joe girl made in a big pot at the house. I prefer cafe mocha and found myself spending 3-4 dollars at Panera Bread or Starbucks. my husband bought me this because on occasion I like a single cup of cappucino, my son wanted coffee and hubby wanted tea. we thought this would solve our hot beverage needs. well, it worked a couple of times but then just stopped. sounded like the motor died. could't return it because store went out of business. when we called tassimo they sent us a new one...same thing:didn't work! then ended up with a third one that wouldn't work so we just tossed it. the company wants you to call and they run you through all these tests. when they heard what ours sounded like they seemed to give… read full review »

This machine is great. It is easy to use and makes a great cup of coffee. It is also relatively easy to clean when it needs it. For the most part, this is an excellent buy for anyone who just wants a few cups of coffee per day. The only problems I have with this machine are that the T-discs get kind of expensive. The plain coffe is not very expensive but the cappucinos and lattes are a bit on the pricey side. I received the Tassimo coffee machine in Dec 2006 as a gift and loved it. It was leaking from underneath the unit by the summer of 2007. I still am using it because the conveniece of 1 cup at a time is so handy. It would be even handier if it had a "tall" setting so I don't have to manually fill up the rest of tall portable coffee mugs/tumblers (the kind with aluminum inside to keep coffee warm) before heading out the door.
