I absolutely LOVE this thermometer! I have used this with all my children, it has lasted us years and works just as well now as it did when we first bought it. It takes only a few seconds to take the temperature and beeps to let you know as soon as it's done. It also always has an accurate temperature reading, I've had to take my children't temperature and then right after take them to the pediatrician for at least two occasions, and in every occasion when that has happened the temperature I had been shown at home is always the same temperature that the nurses get when I get to the pediatricians office. I also love how this thermometer has a comfortable design so it doesn't give my children any discomfort, they don't mind having their temperature taken my older two children even ask to have their temperature taken with this thermometer when they aren't feeling well, and in the off chance that they don't want their temperature taken, it goes fast enough that it's not a pain to do it.

The trick to getting an accurate reading every time is in pulling your child's ear when you take the temperature. Being a mom of two kids a thermometer is a neccessity in my house.  I like that I have a non intrusive way of checking their temperature in a jiffy.  Quick temperature check which runs on regular batteries.  I actually use rechargeable AA with this product.  You use a plastic cover to check the temperature.  One big thing that I don't like about it is that it has no light attached to it.  So you take the temperature and then you have to leave the room if it is night to put a light on in another room to see if there is a fever.  I don't think any mom wants to have to put a bright light on when it is the middle of the night.  They should revamp the product but add a lighted screen once the temperature is given.  I also wonder just how accurate it is since the positioning in th eear has to be just so.  Overall a good thermometer in a pinch.  Much better than having to take the temperature rectally.

The Braun Thermoscan Ear Thermometer can be used on adults as well as on babies and children. The **Braun Thermoscan Ear Thermometer **comes with a box of 20 lens filters, two AA batteries, and a case. There is an on/off button, a start button, and a filter release button. The thermometer saves its last reading in memory. It is advised to change the lens filter each time you use the thermometer. It is best to hold the thermometer over a trash can when you press the filter release button, for it ejects rather forcefully. There is a low battery indicator in the display area where the temperature is displayed. I have noticed when I take my temperature in one ear and take it again in my opposite ear, the temperature reading fluctuates up to a degree at times.. I have also compared the temperature displayed on the **Braun Thermoscan Ear Thermometer** with a regular digital thermometer and there can sometimes be a half to a full degree difference. It is my "go to" thermometer, for it is easy to use and if I see I have a fever, I will double check it with my regular thermometer. The only complaint I have with the **Braun Thermoscan Ear Thermometer** is that the lens filters are expensive, especially when you change them each time you take a reading. Also, they are sometime difficult to find in pharmacies. Thank you for reading my review.

I have 2 daughters, and like most kids, they get sick occasionally. I'm terrible at reading traditional thermometers, so this is a lifesaver. It's quick and easy. It just takes a few seconds to get an accurate reading. The batteries last a long time, and the ear covers are cheap to replace. I can take the temperatures of the girls while they're asleep, and it's easy enough that they can do it themselves. It doesn't take up much space in the medicine cabinet either. I've had the same unit for a couple of years now, and use it quite frequently. Highly recommended!

The Braun Thermoscan Ear Thermomter is pretty accurate. It is roughly off by one degree from the actual temperature. If you have this product check it against your doctor's during the next visit. You may discover that you will have to add anywhere from Half of one degree to as much as 1 degree to the reading to obtain the actual temperature. IThe Braun Thermoscan Ear Thermometer is widely available but fair warning it is a rather pricey item. They are cheaper alternatives that are just as accurate. I would suggest purchasing a digital thermometer and placing it in the crevice of the arm pit and measure the temperature. The results are about the same for a fraction of the cost. Make sure you ask a pharmacist or your pediatrician about whether or nott his product is suitable for infants.

Extremely easy to use. Nice prewarmed tip for comfort. Never had a problem with this thermometer since day 1. Only problem seems to be that it's precision isn't where its supposed to be. Measuring consecutive temperatures within minutes of each other with give plus or minus 1 degree difference, which isn't a whole in the grand scheme of things but when you're febrile, 102 is very different than 103. The product is still highly recommended. Since, easy to use, fast, well built. Will definitely last for years to come. Fairly expensive for a thermometer but a wise investment for health conscious individuals. Difficult to measure in small children due to small ear canals on children but not impossible. Quick note, no light on the display for turn on lights to see the temperature reading. I would definitely recommend this product to my friends.

Braun usually makes pretty good products at affordable prices. Since we needed a thermometer, we thought picking this up would be a pretty good idea, and it was! Since you don't use it that often, it is worth the investment to get something fairly cheap but reliable. It has really fast readings. It is not like the long ones where you stick them in your ear or under the tongue or under the armpit for really long. It takes a few seconds for it to come in with a reading. It is extermely easy to use. One thing that is really great about this thermometer is that it has a memory feature so you can keep track of what your temperature recordings were earlier in the day. It may be on the steeper price for many people in terms of price, but it is inexpensive if you think about it for something you don't use that often. Also one word of advice is to use the protective covering it gives you always as to make sure you keep it clean

As the mother of 3 young children, having the Braun Thermoscan Ear Thermometer has made "sick days" a little easier. It is easy to use and SO quick. the unit is a little heavy, but not bad. You are able to buy little covers to use with it, but they are not necessary, and the tip can easily be cleaned between uses. The temperature is very accurate and the kids don't get bored and squirmy while we take their temp. because it works so quickly. The unit easily switches from F to C and has a large power/start button. I got ours on sale, but even the regular price was very competitive with other models at several different stores. I have had other Braun appliances and it is a name we have grown to trust and even seek out when looking for new products in their line. It would be nice if the unit offered illumination, but it hasn't been something that is overly inconvenient for us, and I have recommended it to several friends.

When we purchased this thermometer, we had just had our son and we were looking for a reliable yet convenient and easy to use thermometer. This thermometer is definitely more expensive than the traditional 'stick' thermometer, but in my experience, totally worth it due to convenience. This thermometer is very accurate and easy to use. My small son never acted afraid and resistant to it like he did alot of thermometer's at Doctor visits. He actually liked it so much that as he got older, he would take his own temperature and try to take mine or his daddy's. This thermometer was easy to carry around in a baby bag, even though it was larger than traditional thermometers. The few things I found that I did not like about this thermometer would be as follows: I did not like the fact that you had to continuously purchase replacement ear covers. The thermometer will NOT work without having one of these in place on the tip that inserts into the ear. The other thing I did not like is that we had this thermometer for about 1 1/2 years and then it quit working. I felt that a thermometer at the cost that this one is at should be a little longer lasting and not break so easily. We have since purchased a Thermoscan Thermometer that you run across the forehead and temple.
