I found a place that repaired electric motors-even pool motors. We called them and they said to bring it in. When my husband brought the motor down, they told him they'd call in a couple days and let him know what it was before they fixed it. Four days go by and we do not hear from them, so we called them.
This is a father-son operation. The father answers and says his son is the boss now, and he wasn't there at the time-call back in about an hour. So we call back and get the son on the phone. He says his father is working on the motor, and he's not sure where dad is in the process.
The son calls back about an hour later, and lets us know what we already surmised-that the motor and pump are bad. We get a price from them to fix it. $147.00. Sounds reasonable, since a new unit is over $200.00.
A week and a half go by and no phone call. We call them. They say that since it's an older pump, they had to order the parts out of California, and the parts should be here in three or four days. We're not exactly happy about this, but it's not like we really have a choice in the matter.
Another week goes by, and we do not hear from them. We call them again, only to be told that the parts were back-ordered, and they do not know how long it will be for them to come in.
Yet another week goes by, and they finally initiate a phone call-our motor is finally done!
Brandon Electric Motor does excellent work, but are a bit on the slow side. They do not take credit cards-check or cash only. I did not know that when I went to pick up the pump, and had to go all the way back home and come out again on Monday morning to pick up the pump, as they close at 4:00pm.
