Bradford Exchange I Wish You Porcelain Angel Figurine Review

In August of this year I lost a really special friend to a tragic accident.  Brannigan and I were on the same dance team for the last four years and this year we began dating prior to him returning to Australia for a visit with his family.  He was involved in an ATV accident that claimed his life and I was left with only the memories of having danced with him and loved him for a short time.

After staying with friends and family for a week I returned to work and went to the post office to check my mail.  I had a package to pick up and it was from Brannigan.  It seems that while he was in Australia he sent me the "I Wish You" porcelain angel by Bradford Exchange.  Along with the angel was a card that said, "Sending you this angel to watch over you until I can hold you in my arms again."  He didn't know that I was going to meet him at the Atlanta airport so he mailed me this package as a way of letting me know he was thinking about me and would be seeing me again.  Well, our plans were just that.  Plans that didn't come to fruition.  Brannigan went home to be with the Lord so I now have two guardian angels watching over me, Brannigan and my sweet Adonai.  The funny thing is that they both played soccer so I can only imagine them playing together on the streets of gold.

The "I Wish You" Angel is made of fine porcelain.  It sells thru Bradford Exchange for $39.99 plus $7.99 shipping/handling.  The angel has beautiful wings that are lined in silver and she is holding a string of charms.  Each charm is in the shape of a heart with the words: Love, Joy, Hope, Beauty and Peace.  On the body of the angel's dress is a poem that says,

"I Wish You...When You're lonely I wish you LOVE, When You're sad I wish you JOY, When you're discouraged I wish you HOPE, When your spirit is empty I wish you BEAUTY, When you're troubled I wish you Peace."

The website at www.collectiblestoday.com says this about the angel:

Meticulously handcrafted of fine Heirloom Porcelain with hand-applied glazes in matte and gloss finishes.  Accented with lustrous platinum bands, accents and filigree, including a gleaming and thoughtful inscription.

Each angel has a number stamped on the bottom of the figurine.  I will cherish this angel all the days of my life as it reminds me of the love I knew and lost but also holds promise of being reunited with family and friends when I get to Heaven.

The "I Wish You" angel comes in a variety of sentiments.  They have one for the daughter and granddaughter and another one for friends.  Each has a different colored dress but the message is the same.  The angel is there with you when the significant person cannot be.  Whether separated by miles or death this angel binds the hearts of friends and loved ones.

My angel sits on my jewelry armoirre and every day I pick out earrings I am reminded of Brannigan.  Brannigan didn't know what fate had in store for him when he mailed me that package but the Lord knew.  And perhaps this gift was the Lord's way of reassuring me that Brannigan would always be with me, if only in my heart and mind.
