Brad Paisley - American Saturday Night —

I can honestly say that Brad Paisley is the reason that I started listening to country music in the first place.  I heard the radio version of "I'm Going To Miss Her" (with the crowd in the background cheering) and from there I have been hooked ever since.  This latest CD from Brad didn't dissappoint either and I am glad that, even though I was sitting in Afghanistan, that I was able to get my hands on this CD all the way over here.  It has lived up to all of the expectations that I have built over the years with the music from Brad Paisley.

One of the songs on the "American Saturday Night" CD that has become one of my favorites is simply titled "Then" and the concept behind the song is just as simple.  It simply states that throughout different events in his life he thought that he loved his wife as much as he thought was humanly possble but realizes that his love for her continued to grow as time when on and he thought he loved her "then".  This is the song that I am thinking of having at my wedding as our first dance.

Another song from the CD "Welcome To The Future" talks about how things have changed over time.  He mentions how he used to wish he would have his own Pac-Man game at home and would have to get a ride down to the arcade just to play and now he has it on his phone.  It's a great song that causes you to think about how things have improved since back in the day.

If you are a fan of country music, or just looking for somehting a new that has a good story to it and words that you can understand, I would definitely suggest picking up "American Saturday Night" by Brad Paisley.  Who knows you may fall in love with the music and become addicted to country music.  All I know is that I will keep listening.

In response to MRSverret's comment from Oct 3, 2009 at 4:12PM:

One of the artists that I have seen traveling with him on at least one of his tours and have had the chance to meet in person that I really enjoy is Blaine Larsen. He is only 23 years old (if my memory serves me right) and already has two CDs out and I believe another one on the way. On his first album that was released in the bigger markets he has a song called "How Do You Get That Lonely" and it was a very deep song about how people make the choice to commit suicide. It doesn't blame anyone for it but simply asks the question.

If you decide to look him up I would suggest listing to a song or two before looking up a picture of him. The voice doesn't fit the person singing. He is very young looking but has a very mature voice that you wouldn't expect. I suggest listening to him first because I was telling someone else about him and they said all they could do was laugh because they just kept seeing his face and it just didn't match up.
