Boxer Breed Review

My boxer, Rocko is not only our pet, but our child.  He is 2 1/2 years old. Boxers do not calm down like most breeds after 2 years old.  They often don't settle until about 4 years of age.  We  have seen some improvements within the last couple of months.  When we first obtained Rocko, we kept him in a kennel during our time out of the house.  He potty trained fairly quick.  When he was completely potty trained we left him in a bedroom while we were gone and just recently he is allowed all over the house.  I still have to make sure there are no temptations, such as my shoes sitting around.  He is mostly white with some brown and is very prone to allergies.  Our yard is about 2.5 acres and if he gets into weeds you can believe we are going to the vet. He actually takes 2 allergy pills everyday and 2 pills for an overactive thyroid, believe it or not, my 97lb boxer was once underweight.  He is a pure bread, his mom and dad were larger.He is often skittish.  He tipped his stainless steel bowl one day, it made a clatter and starved himself rather than eating outof it again.  Funny little things tha have happened he doesn't ever get near something agin.
