I normally only use dryer sheets for my permanent press clothing and a liquid fabric softener for my towels and linens but the temptation of my favorite scent of fresh citrus had me using new Bounce With Febreze Citrus & Light Scented Dryer Sheets with ALL my laundry.

Bounce With Febreze Citrus & Light Scented Dryer Sheets

This new formula of Bounce is combined with Febreze and a new fresh citrus scent.  They contain a combination of orange, lime and lemon fragrances to make this new "citrus" scent. The dryer sheets come in a bright and colorful yellow, orange, red and blue package containing 105 dryer sheets. They are also available in a 70 count package for about $3.99 at most grocery stores.  Other scents available in the Bounce plus Febreze sheets are Fresh Scent Spring & Renewal and Fresh Scent Meadows & Rain.

The idea of combining Febreze with Bounce sheets is to bring a new freshness to your laundry room, your whole house and of course your laundry.  This product claims to have a time released freshness that continues to release fragrance over time. I n addition to the static-free benefits and softness, from original Bounce you have the added benefit of the fresh Febreze scent that lingers.

First Reaction To Scent

I could smell the strong fragrance of Bounce With Febreze Citrus & Light Scented Dryer Sheets before I even opened the package.  It was so strong when I opened the box that you can't really distinguish the CITRUS scent that they are supposed to hold.  To me it came off as a strong perfume smell.  I'm thinking that this is not going to be my favorite Bounce scent.

Ok, on to doing the laundry!

My Evaluation of Bounce With Febreze Dryer Sheets

I used the Bounce With Febreze Citrus & Light Scented Dryer Sheets for about a week on all of my laundry.  I usually do about 6 loads of clothes on the weekend and 2-3 during the week. My first test was on our towels.  I'm a sucker for soft towels and am pretty much set in my ways of using a liquid fabric softener.  I decided that I would try this out though and see how it worked.

Towels

My first load of laundry using Bounce With Febreze Citrus & Light Scented Dryer Sheets was on towels and was a medium size load.  I used one dryer sheet when I put these in the dryer.  Again, I was taken back by the strong fragrance as I took the first sheet out of the box and put into the dryer along with the towels.  After drying for 45 minutes I removed the towels from the dryer.  I immediately noticed that my towels were softer than they would have been without using a dryer sheet.  I don't think they were quite as soft as they would have been with my usual fabric softener though.  As I brought these out to be folded I decided to see if they retained any of the fragrance.  I was very happy to see that my laundry did not come out smelling strong like the sheets did!  In fact, the scent is very mild and not really noticed unless you put the fabric up to your nose and intentionally sniff.

Clothing

My next test of the Bounce With Febreze Citrus & Light Scented Dryer Sheets was on permanent press clothing.  I normally use a Bounce sheet on these clothes and I found about the same results as using the new scent of citrus with Febreze Bounce. The scent is strong on the new sheets but the laundry comes out with a very faint scent.  My permanent press clothes came out of the dryer wrinkle free, static free and with a slight hint of a fresh scent, although I still don't nail it as citrus.

I have also used Bounce With Febreze Citrus & Light Scented Dryer Sheets with whites and linens and had the same results as above.

My Thoughts On New Bounce With Febreze Citrus & Light Dryer Sheets

While I like the performance of this dryer sheet, I'm not thrilled with the super strong scent of the product.  My box has been open and airing out now for over a week and is not as strong as when first opened the box but this is a little too much fragrance for my liking when opening a new box of Bounce.  The citrus scent is a bomb in my opinion.  I pick up very faint citrus hints, more perfume than anything else.

Performance can not be faulted.  These sheets work very well, in keeping laundry cling-free and coming out of the dryer soft. They also help reduce static electricity on your clothing. This is a major pain in the winter.

To me, this is a love-hate product.  I like the performance but the strong scent can bring on a headache.  I will probably go back to my former Bounce scent that is not so strong when I finish using this box.

My Viewpoint

I think new Bounce With Febreze Citrus & Light Scented Dryer Sheets works well and as described.  However, the scent is a little on the strong side for me.  I'll take my regular Bounce please!

These dryer sheets made me break out in a near full-body rash after using them while drying my sheets. I have never had an allergic reaction to anything in my life with this exception.

Anything with a strong scent will make my eyes water or sneeze, but when I use something like this I have to wash my hands right away to get the full strenth scent off me,Every time I walk down the laundry detergent Isle I get like that,so I grab and go very quickly before it has a chance to affect me....

Lisa, that is a great idea...cutting them in half. Now why didn't I think of that??

Hi jss831, It sounds like you may be allergic to them with sneezing!

I actually cut them in half since I often do small loads anyway. But the laundry room made the house smell good :-)

I agree, just too much fragrance too soon and it's a chemically citrus...not good!
