Bounce Dryer Sheets —

I am going back to Bounce Dryer Sheets after trying the Bounce Dryer Bar.  I've had to rewash too many loads due to white streaks and smudges.

In my first review of the Bounce Dryer Bar, I said time would tell, it has.  The main problem is white streaks left on dark clothes.  I hoped after the bar had been used a few times it would quit leaving streaks. I am on load 13 or 14, the marks are still bad.  Pieces of the bar are chipping off and leaving smudges.

I've rewashed several loads in plain warm water, this seems to be the best solution when over half of the clothes are marked. It isn't as visible on lighter clothes, that doesn't mean the streaks aren't there. The electric and gas bill will increase enough to eat up any savings not to mention time.

I'm now faced with removing the bar holder from the dryer. The package didn't address this. I have the holder still in the dryer with no bar.

I have gone back to what has worked well for me, providing static control, fresh smell, soft clothes and a lint screen cleaner (the used dryer sheet).  Bounce Dryer Sheet, it comes in different scents, and is easier than liquid.

The bar is a good idea, for me it has been more work than time or money savings.  I feel it needs improvement, then it might have some real benefits.

NOTE: the reviewer indicated that they received a sample of Bounce Dryer Sheets

In response to darlyn63's comment from Oct 28, 2009 at 5:02AM:

Hi,
This is such a great idea, but...- the bar I have is 2 month. When I took it out yesterday, I could see it breaking into small pieces on the backside, this could be causing some of the smudges. There is at least half of the bar left, I'm not sure how many loads the 2 mo. will do.

The box says "if spotting occurs rub spot with bar soap and rewash in warm water". The number on the box is 1-800-5-BOUNCE (526-8623), I haven't called yet.

The load I did yesterday, my husbands good dark clothes (some I iron). I had to rewash the entire load 2 times in warm water to get the spotting, streaks and smudges out.

As far as removing the holder, the box doesn't address this. I am worried about the double back tape not coming off clean and making more issues on the clothes when the dryer heats up. I left the holder attatched and took the bar out.

I am back to using the Bounce Dryer Sheets they work better for me. If I do get an occasional spot, it tends to come off with a damp rag. I have never had to rewash an entire load using sheets. The other plus, the used sheets are great to clean the lint screen between loads.

I hope this helps, if I get any answers I will let you know. For now I am leaving the holder attached withou the bar, it seems safest. Feel free to use the number above, if you get any information, I am sure we would all appreciate it.

Hi,
Sorry to hear about the streaks on your dark clothes. The information is good to know. Have you tried contacting the company to see if they have any idea's? I noticed in the store there is a 2 month one and 4 month, do you know which one caused this, and have you been able to get the bar off yet?
