My parents got me into Boston Legal, and my grown son also likes it. The show has outrageously over the top wierdness and social commentary, usually it's very good. Boston Legal aired a new episode last night, Tabloid Nation. The sub-plot in this episode shows Shirley (Candace Bergen) defending a Vietnam War Vetran for repeatedly, illegally killing seals for food. He had Post Traumatic Stress and bi-polar disorder. My husband and I started watching "Boston Legal" after it had been on awhile and wish we'd been in on this gem from the beginning. (I plan to go back once it's off the air and start from scratch via Blockbuster or Netflix so I can enjoy the total experience from the beginning). The characters are quirky. They aren't all loveable but all make you want to come back and see what they are up to week after week. James Spader and William Shatner in particular are a hoot - and especially together. Finally! A Thought Provoking Show - and it's funny too

I absolutely love Boston Legal. This show has succeeded at presenting issues the news doesn't even want to address, and do it in a way that, whether you agree or disagree, you're drawn in and actually think about it while following the story line.....which is also quirky fun and enjoyable to watch. The absolute best show on TV

It's quirky. It's funny. It's thought provoking. I'm always surprised when I see it listed as a drama when the Emmys or Golden Globes are announced. Then I'll see a segment that makes me cry. Boston Legal did not start out as a comedy . But with the addition of William Shatner and Candice Bergen the writing changed. James Spader and William Shatner are todays "Odd Couple". My Husband and I love this show. The combination of James Spader and William Shatner is perfect. Their ending scenes on the balcony are what make the show great and not just another sitcom. My college age son got my wife and myself turned on to this program during season two. I wish we would have started watching from the beginning! Next to House, MD, Boston Legal is the most intelligently written program in years. Even when I disagree with the premise, I still find the writing to be superbly witty and pointed. The addition of John Laroquette to the show only made things more interesting.
