Search Amazon.com for Bose - Companion 5 Multimedia Speaker System prices |
For two years, now, my partner and I have been going into the Bose store at the local mall, and sampling the goods. They make great sound systems. We have a set of Bose bookshelf speakers, which are very nice, but it'd be nice to have a full-on sound system to go with our 40" HD tv. This week we decided to bite the bullet.
The Bose Companion 5 Multimedia System is truly remarkable. The speakers, themselves, are each about the size of Rubik's Cube...maybe a tiny bit smaller. The subwoofer is, understandably, larger - about the size of a small hard drive for a tabletop PC. The sound that comes out...
read full review »Bose speaker system is really great...it is quite small but the sound is incredible!! You'll enjoy listening to your music in clear, solid sound...Even when you turn up the volume, the sound quality is the same...no weird, annoying noises whatsoever...It's perfect to hook up to your computer when you have a bunch of iTune songs you want to listen to a little louder..I'm glad we choose to buy this brand because it is excellent! I would recommend this to anyone planning to buy a multimedia speaker.

None can top the Bose Companion 5 Multimedia Speaker System. It's hard to believe such full, rich sound can come from such a compact, unobtrusive system, but...

After all, they are roughly 2 inches tall x 6 inches wide (not counting the woofer), and for many years, I used Boston Acoustic stereo speakers that were roughly 2 feet tall x a foot wide. I needn't have worried. I easily hooked these speakers up to my computer and the sound system is awesome! Far better than those Boston Acoustic speakers that were state of the art in the `80s, and better than the 7 year-old Labtec speakers I've used (which are pretty good.) I can't detect any distortion...
