Bosch TAS4511UC Tassimo Single Serve Review

I am reviewing the Bosch Tassimo Single Serve Coffee Brewer. This is the newest member of the "Tassimo" family. I previously owned the Braun Tassimo, but there was a somewhat minor problem with the rubber seal in the back. After a long time of fooling with it I decided I couldn't live without coffee! We compared the Bosch Tassimo and the Keurig single serves. After some deliberation, I settled on the Bosch Tassimo, mainly because I had just ordered 4 boxes of the pods. The salesman directed me to the Keurig, he felt that was where consumers were moving. Amazon previously offered the Tassimo pods at Prime free shipping and by the time that I was buying a new coffemaker they no longer offered the prime shipping. (Side note, Amazon now again offers the pods with Prime free shipping.) It was easy enough to set up, you have to do some running the machine through a few times and soaking the water filter that comes with the machine (Use of the water filter is optional). I expect that is pretty normal with any machine though. After the first run-through it is extremely easy to use and very convenient. The water filter is a nice feature. I haven't had any problems with it so far. Tassimo also offers a Looot of options for drink service. I paid $169 for the machine at Bed, Bath & Beyond, with a $20 rebate and some free pods. So this ended up being about 2x the Keurig. Bottom line, I like the product, but due to the high price might recommend the Keurig.
