Bosch Nexxt Washer - 500 Front Load —

We needed a Bosch because it was the only model we could find that didn't have the detergent going in a drawer on the front.  In our new house, the closet door blocks access to a pull out drawer and the Bosch had the detergent going in the top.  We thought we had found a solution to being able to stay with front loader machines, which we like, but unfortunately there are lots of problems with the Bosch (and it's the top of the line model).  It does not balance well and shakes violently.  The front door of the washer and dryer won't stay open while you load/unload clothes, they just swing shut even though the machines are level.  They are also not as quiet as our Whirlpools were.  There is no option of just running a spin cycle and there is not a good selection of wash cycles.  Often the washer will stop without spinning the clothes dry because it can't balance.  You are left with sopping wet clothes and the only way to try to spin them again is to run another complete cycle.  The worst problem is that the softener dispenser won't drain properly and is full of water after each load.  A repairman came to fix it, but said it was working properly.  He ran some test cycles and it was draining.  I told him that's not what happens with an actual load of laundry, but he wouldn't listen.  I wish I had my Whirlpools back, I'd find a way to fit them in the closet!

I am able to open my doors all the way so I don't see why they would close on their own unless you aren't doing that. You also need to make sure that the bolts on the pedestals are tight if you are using them and the leveling legs are set properly. Yes, I will agree that a spin only option would be nice because sometimes mine is fickle with my son's twin comforter, but I just set it to refresh and it spins out just fine after that.

I agree that the door not staying open is a problem with not only the washer as well. Unless you get them open to the 'right' spot you have to try to juggle keeping the doors open while transferring laundry. The moisture on the door sometimes drips on the floor and because the unit is in the hall, leaving the door open as recommended isn't an option. This seems like a design flaw to me! The biggest problem is not having a spin only option. The laundry seems to twist easily causing the cycle to stop, and the only solution is to re-run an entire cycle. I just had to do this 3 times today!!! Definitely not a time or sanity saver. I will never buy a Bosch again. Too much money, too much hassle!

The balance problem and vibration can be fixed by leveling your machine. The adjustable feet are on it for a reason!

I too hate not having a spin only option. My washer rubber smells moldy even after using the expensive tablets from Lowes. Never will I purchase another front loader with a rubber seal!!

I also have the Bosch and the way the doors work is they have to pass a particular point before they will stay open. This point is at about 45+ degrees. Mine did the same as yours but once I moved a rack out of the way so that I could open the door further....no problem.
