Bosch Nexxt Washer - 300  —

I bought my Bosch Nexxt 300 about two years ago and I'm ready to go back to an old-fashioned agitator style.  I hate this machine! It takes forever to do a normal size load (ex. - a load of towels can take an hour and a half!). There is a mildew odor that quickly returns even if you keep the door open between washes (who wants to do that?) or if you run an empty load with bleach.  When running an even small load of shirts or pants you have to untwist the sleeves or legs before putting them in the dryer.  Thus things more often come out having to be ironed.  It does run quietly but I'm tired of the annoying signal beep when the load finishes (no way to turn it off!).  Everytime I do laundry I hear myself repeating, "I hate this machine!"

I agree 100%. The door won't stay open on my machine to 'air it out'... it slams shut. No matter how little or big the load is, the clothes are still dirty when they come out. Hate it and will go back to my top loader whirlpool once we can afford it.

The musty mildew smell is because you probably have a mildew build up from not taking care of your machine properly. After every load, you're supposed to wipe it dry and leave the door open. This is common sense and is true of any front load machine. There are also products out now that you can run once a month that were made to specifically clean out front load machines. As for your clothes not getting clean, the more you full your machine is, the better they will clean. Instead of having a big agitater in the way, your clothes agitate against eachother, thus cleaning them and giving you more space to stuff more clothes in. I've own this machine for a year now and have never had any problems because I followed the owners manual. The only complaint I have is that it has a tendancy not to spin out all of the water when I wash heavier items (ie.. comforters, heavy blankets, all jeans). I think it is a fantastic machine for the price. We paid just under $600 for it.

Front loader technology is different, they take longe because they have a different technology and are more energy efficient. The smell is strange - never had this experience with any front loader.

I feel like I wrote this review myself! Couldn't agree more on EVERY point. Not a good washer if you have pets either, it doesn't get the hair off. The mildew smell was the final straw for us. Going back to dependable Whirlpool.

I'm with Pam. We bought a Bosch 2100 about 3 years ago. Everything she said about the 300 is true of this model also. Clothes come out all twisted - have even been turned wrong side out. Now how does that happen. When the timer indicates 1 minute left, it clicks back to 2-3 minutes. If you need to add a forgotten item after you've closed the door but have not started the cycle, it is almost impossible to get the door open to add the item. You can't add oxyclean or fabric softener without making the machine cycle either go for 1-1/2 hours or when it stops the clothes are still wringing wet so you have to put it through the spin cycle. And it does not really clean the clothes. Never again a front load - NEVER again a Bosch. It's a piece of junk - an expensive piece of junk. Like Pam, I hate this machine.
