Bosch Dishwasher - Evolution 500 Stainless Steel Review

I bought my Bosch dishwasher at Sears about a year ago. I suspect it is a slightly different model than what is shown here as they change models regularly.

 But what I wanted was the Bosch reputation for quality and reliability and that's what I got. This dishwasher is so quiet, I have to put my hand on it to feel vibrations if I want to know whether it's running. The outside of mine is white, my preference to go with my kitchen, but they also come in black and stainless steel.

 The inside is stainless steel and the racks are hard nylon. That's great because it means nothing inside can ever rust. In the modern style of dishwashers, the interior volume is much larger than the way dishwashers used to be made, giving greater height especially to the lower rack. That means it can hold larger pots. There is a small downside to this, however. The bottom rack is much closer to the floor, so you have to bend over a bit when loading and unloading.

 The utensil rack can be put anywhere in the bottom rack you desire and be either square or in a long strip (or two short ones). Most of the dividers on both racks can be moved into a flat positon if that would accommodate your dishes better. The top rack is tall enough to hold good sized stemware, which is so much easier than washing them by hand. There is enormous flexibility in how the dishes can be loaded depending on what is dirty.

 Did I forget to mention how clean the Bosch gets the dishes? They come out sparkling and spot free (it does require the use of a rinse agent product). You know those copper bottomed pots that turn black if you don't polish them? The Bosch is gradually restoring their coppery brilliance with every wash. Other stained items are also returning to their original states.

 There are special cycles for really dirty pots, to rinse and hold (which I do if I don't have enough for a full load and am going out of town), and to wash the upper rack only. It's hard to imagine a situation this machine could not handle.

 I've enjoyed my Bosch dishwasher very much and can't believe I waited so long to get one. It has made dishwashing much more pleasant.
