BornFree bottles came highly recommended by friends who research every single item they buy. I was happy to find a BPA free bottle for my baby and it worked great the first couple of months.
But as he got older, the nipples which I think are overly flexible come loose easily and when my teething infant bites, he has been bathed with milk as the nipple comes out of the bottle. Needless to say, I am using it only for water and that too when I am out of other bottles.
I have been using the Born Free 8 oz glass bottles since they came out. I use them every night, first as a bottle and then as a glass sippy cup for my daughter to have her milk in. Over 2 years later and through the dish washer many many times, they look like new. Yes, I have dropped them.. they have not broken. I have no mercy floors too and they are fine.
Now I have a newborn and we use the 5 oz glass bottles with him. I have a few with the colorful print in oz's and then one with the oz imprinted in, like the old fashioned glass bottles. In either case, they work wonderfuly and there is something...
review »I had Avent plastic bottles when my daughter was born in 2005. Unfortunately, like all bottles back then, it contained BPA.
When my son was born in 2007 (JUST as the BPA warnings started coming out), we decided to switch to a BPA-free bottle. I was afraid to get a BPA-free plastic bottle because I was afraid of other chemicals that they may discover are dangerous.
We went with the Born Free glass bottles because they were durable and we trusted the brand. I am thrilled with our choice. Glass bottles are much heavier than the same size plastic bottles, so we bought the 5 oz bottles instead...
review »With all the studies proving BPA is horrible to babies...I set out to find the perfect bottle for my son (he's now 15 months). I started with Avent only to realize they use the dangerous plastic. I did my research and found Born Free to be the safest.
At first, I didn't like all the gadgets that had to be cleaned. However, once you get used to them, they aren't too much of a hassle. I put them in the diswasher and they were fine. One of the best things about them...they don't leak!!! They also come in BPA free plastic so they aren't as heavy as the glass. Safety first is my motto...
review »Im going to start with the cons of born free bottles seeing that there only a few of them.my main one if i had to choose would be the flow of the nipple to fast makes it difficult for my daughter to drink .Also the fact that it only comes in two sizes is a small inconviniance. The pros i would say are there are no bpa high quality helps prevent colics wich is a big plus and my most favorite reason is that once baby is older they can used as sippy cups when you buy the handle parts so you get alot more for your money with a great quality product.
I now have been using these bottles for several months. I very much disliked them in the beginning since my husband hid the vents so they leaked. Luckily I did not throw the bottles out... since I found the vents which stopped the leaking completely. I am not happy with all of the parts to the bottle- it makes for difficult cleaning & sanitizing. I do love that they are BPA free. My son loves his "baby bottle". Great quality, but very expensive.
