I have been using the Born Free 8 oz glass bottles since they came out. I use them every night, first as a bottle and then as a glass sippy cup for my daughter to have her milk in. Over 2 years later and through the dish washer many many times, they look like new. Yes, I have dropped them.. they have not broken. I have no mercy floors too and they are fine.
Now I have a newborn and we use the 5 oz glass bottles with him. I have a few with the colorful print in oz's and then one with the oz imprinted in, like the old fashioned glass bottles. In either case, they work wonderfuly and there is something to be said for quailty.
I have some Evenflo glass and Munchkin Mighty Grip glass bottles, they are nice, but.. they are not quality in terms of the nipple. (see my reviews for those)
I love the wide mouth, easy for powdered formula to go into and super easy to clean. I love the airflow system, there are NO leaks and no nipple collaspe. Just make sure you get the Born Free nipples and the Born Free Sippy Spout. Yes you can use the Avent sippy spout, but it will leak.. I know, because I have used them. And now, you can find Born Free every where. For all parts.. I cannot even find plain Evenflo Nipples to replace with my plainer glass bottles.
Once he is done with the bottle part, I can get the handles and sippy spout and , there you go.. a glass sippy.. no leaching. You can get the silicon sleeve if you have a tosser.
The nipple is also a perfect slow flow and good for going in between bottle and breast. :-)
