When my daughter hit about 11 months, we knew we needed to buy new training cups. My son had destroyed his old ones, so we went to Babies R Us on a Mission.
The BornFree Training Cups looked like they would be a hit, and at $10 a pop, I thought it would be. T
hey are BPA free, which is excellent! It's a shame that's where the positives end. First time - my daughter loved the cup. It was one of her favorites; until it took a tumble to the floor. Imagine my excitment when the whole thing leaked out. And yes, everything was in place. We've tried it now a dozen or so times.
I WANT this to work. I don't want this to fail, but it keeps on failing. We had to steam the carpet because as my daughter dragged the cup around with her as she crawled across the carpet. Now, the failure could be a miscommunication.
When I think "training cup," I think a cup that is a step-up from a bottle. You can take it everywhere and use it anywhere. No mess. Maybe there definition is a cup that is ONLY used at the table. I don't know.
However, it just doesn't stop. It's hard to assemble, and if you don't know what you're doing, it can be downright confusing.
So while I want to believe that this is a healthy choice for my daughter, I don't think so. I'm done trying. It's been 3 months and it has never worked. We've tried every combo, and it just fails each time.
Not worth the money we spent.
A complete disappointment.
