We started out with the Breastflow Bottles, which were good enough for our needs, but that's fodder for another review. Once our little guy increased the amount he was drinking per feeding, we moved on to the Born Free bottles. We were drawn to them initially because they were constructed in a baby-friendly way-no BPA, no Phlalates, no PVC or other horrible chemicals.
The bottles are more expensive than other comparable brands/styles, ostensibly because their unique construction reduces colic and stomach upset by reducing the amount of air swallowed during feedings. Our little one was never colicky (I don't think that had anything to do with the bottles), but he did have some stomach upset (frequent spit-ups) in the early months, so I can't really speak about how successful the bottles were in that respect. I do know that they've held up very well to this point, and, even though they take a bit more work to get them cleaned (the bottles use 5 pieces for regular day-to-day use), but they've served us very well.
