Borders

I enjoy looking thru their online items. I have an account with erewards.com and once a year get $15 on my BORDERS card. I get very regular emails from Borders, which have coupons EVERY time... My son in college prefers Barnes and Noble, which happens to be an affiliate of his college. ...

For years, Borders Books online presence had been serviced by Amazon.com. From my perspective, it had worked well. Obviously, from Borders' perspective, it hadn't, so they ended the affiliation.

I got a $5 coupon in the mail on Saturday for the NEW Borders.com, so I decided to check it out. Like the stores,...

I signed up for their rewards card at my last visit.  I got a 40% off coupon in my email.  Since both of my kids had gift cards I printed off two of the coupons I got in the email and both kids got 40% off their book.  While I was there I had two sales people come up and ask me if I needed help and they were knowledgeable about the Sony book reader and the books that we asked them about.  When I left they gave me $5 coupon to use after christmas.  I would go back if I keep getting deals this good.

Borders Books is my favorite place to shop. As an avid reader I appreciate the large selection of books available, both hardcover and paperback. The staff is very friendly and eager to help.  If you can't find something they are glad to help you out.  Having the computer kiosks in the various parts of the store allow me to determine quickly whether they have a particular book in stock.  If they don't they will order it for you. You don't have to wait weeks for the book to come.  Every time I have ordered something it has come within a few days. An added perk is the coffee shop in the store. ... read full review »

I ordered a book from Borders as a gift for a new son-in-law stationed in Germany. He has an APO. Borders says that they mail to APO's. It got hung up in New Jersey for over a month. Borders offered to refund my purchase amount and resubmit minus the shipping. I took them up on the offer, but never saw the refund, instead they billed me twice for the first transaction and then the second one, and instead of refunding me they sent a gift  card to my son-in-law for the original purchase amount! They said this is their policy when a gift has been "returned".

I got no satisfaction from them on the...

I bought a few DVD on Borders.com and attempted to return them for credit card credit with no success.  The only thing they will give you is a store credit.  Be aware that you can NOT return anything from Borders.com to stores.  You are told that they are separate entities even though you are charged a local sales tax for the store in your area.  More outragrous is that borders counts 30 day return policy from the dates they ship and receive instead of the dates you receive and ship, which means in reality you get only 14days.  And YOU have to pay shipping BOTH ways!  Be warned to stay... read full review »

I really love Borders! I'm still into stepping into an actual bookstore to purchase an actual book (none of that Kindle stuff for me!) and Borders never fails to provide a bright, friendly, shopping experience. I'm almost always greated by an employee when I enter the store, and I've rarely had trouble finding someone to help me when I need it.

The drawback for me is that it seems like every time I go into my local store, they've moved EVERYTHING around and I have to hunt around for the section I'm looking for.

I hear they'll have free Wi-Fi in all stores soon, too!

i have had the worst experience with borders.com that I ever have in 12 years of e-commerce. my order was cancelled even though their site said the product was in stock. then i had to wait for another gift card after the one i had used was nullified. now i've placed an order for a similar product and haven't received any idea of when it will be shipped. it's constantly down. the product detail page has not detail whatsoever. horrible site.

I love my nearby Borders.  The staff are very helpful and friendly.  In addition, Borders has the best coupons around.  They get emailed to you.  Borders is so much better than that other chain bookstore that makes you pay $25 for a membership card.  I have saved a lot more money with my FREE membership card to Borders.  I also love the atmosphere at Borders.  It is very mellow and comforting.
