I did not put a Boppy on my baby registry because I didn't think it was necessary. Then a friend of mine who's baby is already a couple of years old gave me one that she didn't really use, it was new with packaging. Of course I didn't hesitate to take it, I am gald I did!
Obviously it is great for breastfeeding, I find it much more comfortable than a pillow because it isn't mushy soft and it lets you bring the baby very close. Since my baby has reflux, the pillow makes it a lot easier to feed her a bit at a diagonal without straining my arms. When I am on the bed with my feet up I use the pillow behind my back at a diagonal, so comfortable and conforms to my body (I am slim and petite). It is also great to put baby in at an incliine after I am done breastfeeding, it prevents her from spitting up. So those are three uses that I have found and I think I might discover more! I think it will be very handy when she is learning to sit on her own.
If I am sitting at the computer and working (remote desktop) and I can't take a break when feeding her, I put her on the pillow in front of me, support her with one hand and I have one hand free to type (actually doing that as I am writing this). After she is done she falls asleep and I have both hands free! I am into multi-tasking you see. Must have for WAHMs (work at home moms).
