Boots and Barkley Large Rope Dog Toy is better than a plain rope. It is durable, affordable, and provides hours of fun for your dog on its own, or to play with you. The handle on one end of the rope makes tug of war a real challenge for your dog. My dog is VERY strong, so having a handle to grip gives me a fighting chance in our bouts. I have an American Pit Bull Terrier who chewed up those expensive "Impossible to break" toys in less than an hour... So, when I let Faith at this rope toy I was certain it was game over. But surprise surprise, it lasted! We've played with it time and time again. Not only tug of war, but also fetch. She just loves it! Faith also loves to chew the rope toy. Therefore, I recommend not letting your dog keep it with them in their bed or kennel, just to prolong its life. Overall, this is an excellent, versatile, extremely fun product that will last you many many play sessions! You and your dog will not be disappointed.

At first when my husband purchased this for our dogs I was a little big skeptical because it looks so big compared to my puppies. At first it was a little bit big but they quickly learned how to overcome the size factor and love to wrestle my husband for it. My husband loved the handle because he doesn't have to worry about getting rope burn while playing with this toy like he does some of the other rope toys. This toy is also long enough that my two Beagles have no problem sharing the rope for a game of tug-of-war against my husband. I am surprised at how well this toy has held up against all three of them. They typically break all the toys that they get within and matter of days and this one has seemed to hold it's own in our house. I also love how easy it is to clean up. I have put it in the dishwasher, washing machine, and even hand washed it in my sink. It has shown normal signs of wear and tear but nothing that has made us want to toss it in the trash yet. Definitely well worth the money for as long as it has lasted!

Ok let me preface this by saying we have a 50 pound 18 month old puppy. Our dog is one who absolutely loves to play tug- o -war so of course we thought this would be the perfect toy. WRONG! Unfortunately, this toy was destroyed quite quickly and we were disappointed. The problem we had was that the handle broke and the rope was frayed quite easily from the tugging. Now please note we do have a powerhouse dog and with that being said, this product may be fine for a dog who likes to play and tug but may not be as strong as ours. The toy itself seemed decently made or we would not have bought it. Because we know our dog, we always try the "pull and tug" test before buying a toy. Apparently we are just not that strong and our dog is stonger. This is why I think this toy may be fine for some dogs but obviously not all and you need to know your dog. The handle was a little thin so it wasn't exactly comfortable to hold but again, it may be due to the power of our dogs pulling.
