From the first page Phoebe reaches out and grabs you.  I read it just sitting by the pool with my boys.  It kept me wondering who and why they were after Phoebe.  Nora Roberts is a master story teller. I enjoy all of her books.  This one was very good.  I really enjoyed it. I encourge people who like thrillers and suspense to give this a try.… read full review »

So entertaining! its hilarious and everyone could relate to her! You read the book continously because you have to find out what happens next.  It is a common story, husband falls for ex-girlfriend, but it is exciting and I was sad when I finished the book.  Definatly good for beach reading!… read full review »

I was very skeptical when I heard about this book. Vampires? no thanks- not for me. Boy, was I wrong. This book draws a reader in from the very beginning. All ages could enjoy this from 10-50. Edward's mystery and heroic acts are romantic and loveable. I couldn't stop reading the book. It took me hours to get through it and I kept wishing that it would never… read full review »

Sacrificing her own happiness for her mother, Bella moved to Forks to stay with Charlie, her dad.  First day in a new school is hard enough without Edwards gaze.  She was fascinated by him immediately, and he was fascinated by her as well.  So Edward turns out to be a vampire.  That should scare off young Bella, but interestingly enough, it doesn't. —      This book is being sold as a young adult, I enjoyed and I have not fit that category for several years now.  The interaction between Bella and… read full review »

Diana Palmer simply captivated me. She had me from the first page to the last page. I was honestly saddened when I finished the book. I simply had to re-read the book again. I was ready to read the next book in her series. If this book is any indication, then the rest of her books are magic.… read full review »

"Zinnia and Dot" is a children's book that details how two enemy hens end up sharing the mother role for a baby chick. — Zinnia and Dot spent so much time arguing early in the book that a weasel ate all their eggs except one. After much arguing, the two hens decide they will both sit on the egg, but they still refuse to become friends despite the advice of the mourning doves. — Each thinks that the egg is hers. — After Zinnia accidentally swatted Dot instead of the fly that was buzzing around their heads, a brawl began and the weasel sees his chance. — Both hens… read full review »

"Mr. Wolf's Pancakes" is a twist on "The Little Red Hen." It flows well and the illustrations kept the attention of my 6-year-old and 4-year old until the end. — The end is where the problem began at my house. — My children are fans of Chicken Little, Little Red Riding Hood and other friends that Mr. Wolf asked for help. Each of these characters refused to help Mr. Wolf with his task of making pancakes. — My children could relate to all of those friends who did not want to help but wanted to eat the pancakes at the end. My kids expected Mr. Wolf to say no like… read full review »

"If Roast Beef Could Fly" a children's book authored by entertainer Jay Leno and published by Simon & Schuster (Books for Young Readers) give the reader a look into the young life of Jay Leno and his family.  If this story is anything to go by, it could be how  his sense of humor developed early on. — In "If Roast Beef Could Fly" Leno is a young boy, who in involved with his father in a number of household projects, many of which have "interesting" endings, such as the missing parts to fixing the car, or accidents while cleaning the gutters. The Stephainie Plum Series- — My mother had started reading this series of books. She told me they were very comical, that they actually made you laugh out loud. I can be a skeptic, I thought, that's pretty hard to beleive. However, she was very persistent.  I can be a hard headed person, I admit. Well, eventually one day, I was so tired of hearing, "you just have to try these books" that instead of screaming, or feeling like ripping my hair out, I said okay, and took one home. Mom's are'nt always right, but in this case, she was VERY right!! The series is about a woman new in… read full review »

I read this book quite some time ago but still remember how much I enjoyed it.  Mr. Lamb writes in such a way as to make you feel as if you're almost a character in the story.  The characters are so well developed and believable; you feel their angst and joys alike.  Don't miss out on Lamb's other books such as "I Know This Much Is True".  Give these a try, and I hope you enjoy them as much as I… read full review »
