If you ever wrote a book (or are actually writing one), what would it be about? Fiction? Non-fiction? Maybe your memoirs?

Probably an adventure book about searching for gold, my favorite hobby. Lots of outdoors action some of which I'd borrow from my own mishaps.  If getting published wasn't such a difficult proposition I would write books all the time.

What about you though?

I haven't written one (yet), but that's one of my dreams. Maybe someday.

It would be a screenplay... actually I've always enjoyed writing "scripts" or screenplays just for the fun of it.  I never ever would make a movie, these are more just movies for my mind! I even would write down the setting and descriptive parts of what the "actors" would do.  So i I ever wrote a book, it would probably be a play :)

I've written and published a book, "A Hot Dog Stand in the Himalayas" and I'm working on my second.   Both books are fiction.  I recently completed a children's book and hope to have it and the second book published early next year.

I actually have an idea for a Photoshop book and I may yet write it. I think it will be non-fiction, but I haven't written it yet. :-)

Earlier this week, I proposed a book idea to a trade organization but haven't heard anything back. Time to call again. This would also be non-fiction, although it would mostly be pictures. I have the pictures in-hand already, more than 2,000 of 'em.

I wrote a book and had an agent and even a publisher but my son got sick  (13 years ago) and I dropped everything. The manuscript remains somewhere in its box in my office. I don't want to look at it for some reason. I was so close to having it published.

I would definitely write fiction and it would more than likely be something light with some romantic overtones to it. Not a "romance novel" but I think I'm more of a Danielle Steele than I am a literary writer. I would, however, love to write a non fiction book as well. People are urging me to do so but it hasn't hit me yet. When it does, I will.

I think it's already been done, if not I would write about "That everyone has a story" most people do not think there lives are interesting, all what they have lived through, seen the changes, struggles. I would also put my own in the book. In reality everyone has a story to tell. In my line of work, I've come across so many people. They feel compelled to talk to me (I don't know why). Maybe I seem approachable, one gentlemen spoke to me for an hour about the war and fighter planes. He was one of the first black fighter pilots. Very interesting. Another women showed me pictures of when two guys broke into her home and beat the crap out of her, thank god she is alive. Strong women for being almost 90. Maybe that's my calling, everyone has a purpose, a reason~wether it be for a season. I really do enjoy hearing, and listening to all of them. So I guess that is what my book would be about ~ Live's travels, need not be around the world.

I would probley write a book on the relaities of bipolar disorder and the bipolar mind.It would be a book on the insight of what really goes on and not what science tells you.I would make it real and informative and I think it could be a potential best seller. This book would be definately non-fiction.

That would be a great book, as I know two people who have bipolar disorder. My one sister kind of explained it to me, how she feels, and what she experiences. I would be interested in reading it. To learn, understand. Great idea!

Right now I'm writing, by dribs and drabs, a screenplay based on a short story I wrote in 1998 dealing with lost chances at love, high school, and how our experiences as kids later affect us as adults.  I never had it formally published since it's not a novel, and I have never figured out how to "telescope" it from short story into a full-blown novel, so I figured I'd post it online and then adapt that into a screenplay.

So far I've got most of a sequence (a collection of connected scenes) done, but now I have to figure out whether I want to adapt it very faithfully or change it for the big screen.

Cool, thanks for the response to my little post.Yeah it is intresting to see what reality is when it comes to bipolar and I assure you what being said by science isnt always correct.Just ask someone with it,I happen to be one of them.I took meds for a long time but made the decision to stop well over a year ago.My life has actaully been great.I have went through a few things ,family deaths and stuff but I have been fine.I ahve lost over 60 pounds and I just stay busy. The biggest challenge for most bipolar people is sleep and having alot of energy.I bought a tradmill for the energy.I read alot of book and just stay occupied.I sleep around 4 hours a night but I actaully do quite well.So I am happy to be med free and ok.It is possible to have a fully functioning life beyond massive amounts of dope thats overly prescribed.

I started writing a book once. Maybe I should find it again and see if it's worth doing anything with.

Here's a peek at what screenplay form (if not the format) looks like:

MARIA AND TERESA

We SEE two girls in their late teens, dressed in casual attire (jeans, blouses, comfortable shoes, etc. which are appropriate for a high school's dress code of the early 1980s.) MARIA is the clear "alpha" of the two, not just because she's taller and a tad more attractive than TERESA, but she's also the more outgoing and has presence. She smiles at JIM.

My guess would be that if I were to think seriously at getting something published it would be along the lines of a children's book or some sort of training book having to do with working with children.    I don't see that happening soon but maybe later on down the road depending on what the road brings.

What was themanuscript about, Patty? Bet it was good.

You've grown through the years so your writing talents has grown also. Maybe at some point you could tweak it so that you'll be happy with it. Then you could reconsider submitting it.

I still think many people would like to read about your cats too!  : )

I write horror and on my blog at grab.com a lot of people get upset and write me about how graphic it gets lol but how freaky they can also get. I could write about my life too, its been difficult and crazy and just a wild ride so far but my main thing is horror and I loveeeeee to do it.

I've written a few based-on-a-true-story stories elsewhere, but I only tell a few people where they are.  They're, let's say, not everyone's cup of tea.
