I love going into a bookstore, the smell of new books, the quiet atmosphere, browsing for my next books. Recently I went in and was in a hurry, so grabbed some books I thought I would like. Three were a series and I tried to start the first one and could not get into the plot despite about 30 pages...I tried again a week later and still had difficulty. So after a third try, I took the two books back that I had not tried to read (they were 2nd and 3rd in the series). No hassles on the return.
I asked the clerk if I could return the one I did try to read, despite having read a few pages...the spine wasn't extremely creased. She said no problem. I couldn't believe it, I thought you could not return a book that you had opened and creased the spine a little.
My next trip I took it back and just told them I couldn't get into the plot...they took it (and another book) back and gave me a gift card credit (since it was past so many days).
Fine by me! I recommend Books A Million...their return policy is great.
