Bones Review Summary

"No Bones about it: this show has some serious heart!" Fox's forensic crime drama starring Emily Deschanel and David Boreanaz is for some their only "can't miss" show, with many being fans from the book series by Kathy Reichs as well. Reviewers are finding that this show "has only grown funnier, deeper, and more richly layered" with each season. The main "characters are lovable and witty and so much fun" and have such great chemistry that viewers enjoy the "will they or won't they" part of their relationship. Bones is "intelligent, tantalizing, sexy, and engaging." Fans of forensic police dramas, such as the entire CSI series, feel Bones is one of the best with both drama and humor, yet they also caution that "some parts are extremely graphic and not for those with a weak stomach."

The Case

Fox's Wednesday night forensic crime drama Bones is nearing the end of its second season, and considering that the show has only grown funnier, deeper, and more richly layered, I don't think anyone's surprised that it's been renewed for a third.  To put this show in context, let me just say...

Does anyone else out there wonder about these two and whether or not they should get together? Some shows are better when they don't get together and some needs to get together, I just can't decide on this one. They are really an interesting couple. I love what she can do with just bones.

I'm so glad that Bones is back for season four!

This is a smart, funny, well written show on Fox.  It's about a group of scientists that work at the Jeffersonian Institute in Washington D.C.  They use forensics to solve crimes.  The main character is Temperance Brennan (aka Bones) she is an expert in, well, bones.  Her FBI sidekick (Booth) is also her sometimes love interest, a common theme I know but they have a fun dynamic. This season seems to be featuring a revolving intern character, a new one each week with their own set of quirks.  Another fun character is Dr. Sweets, he is Brennan...

Bones is on my list of the movies on tv that I will stop whatever I am doing and grab and snack and never miss an episode.  Bones and Booth make a great pair.  I love how they make her look so unworldly so to speak, like everything we normally do has to be explained to her.  Also how she jumps right to the point when describing how someone died and Booth gives her that look and shakes his head, then tells her how she should have said it.  It has a lot of suspense and humor, but they have a serious side also.  Some one else said they couldn't wait til the "kiss"  I am with them, I can't wait... review »

While some people may find that the program may be too gory of many younger viewers, "Bones" ensures that proper scientific names of body parts, material, and the like are placed in front of the viewer.

"Bones" never talks down to its audience, nor does it talk over their heads. The interpersonal relationships is the thread that pulls the whole thing together. The program doesn't sugar coat the destructive nature of humans, nor does it hide the empathic nature either.

The female leads are strong women who are completely different:

Dr. Brennan - Bones - a forensic anthropologist...

So if your sitting there wondering what to watch on Thusday's, here it is Bones on Fox.  This is one the most thrilling, captavating shows ever.  This is a TV show that has been inspired by a real life forsnsic anthropologist and novilist Kathy Reichs.  Emily Deschanel plays Dr. Temperance Brennan who is a forensic anthropologist who works for the Jeffersonian Institue.  Dr. Brennan assists Special Agent Seely Booth, played by David Boreanaz, with crime scences handled by the FBI.  They are a dynamic duo with many expertise in solving murders.  Dr. Brennan has no sense of humor while... review »

One of the consistently great shows on television today.  It's got a great blend of interesting and complex characters and has yet to disappoint.

Forensic scientist, Temperance Brennan and her FBI partner, Seely Booth, solve unusual and complex crimes.  The show is sprinkled with a great supporting cast, humor and romance.  Unlike a lot of crime dramas, Bones is not stale and uses fresh material for every episode.

In an effort to mix things up this season, Brennan's right hand man, Zach Eddy went to prison and a new scientist fills his job slot in each episode making for some of the best, awkward...

I have been watching the tv series Bones for quite awhile and thoroughly enjoy it.  It is definitely out of the box , not just another ER clone.

The characters are diverse and realistic. Sorta like " the medical dream team".

The main character is cantancerous, self absorbed, arrogant, very intelligent, excessively intense, commited in a convoluted way, sexy, and at times comes across as insecure, immature, and totally screwed up socially & psychologically.  I like to think of him as a lovable SOB.

The story lines are unique and one can actually learn tidbits of info occasionally.  The team...

I only have one show that is a "can't miss" every week and this is it.  I am an avid reader and often find Movies and TV shows which are loosely based on books I've read to disappoint me, however, Bones is not one of those disappointments.

The show has a wonderful underlying storyline, yet each week's show is interesting enough that they can stand on their own.  This isn't one of those "if you didn't see it from the beginning you're lost" shows.  Instead, each week continues to build the characters and make them feel more real every week.

The stories are great mysteries and I love to see how...

Bones is one of the TV shows that I have my TiVo set to record every new episode. I try to never miss it, but I don't want to take the chance that I will. The chemistry between Booth and Bones makes the whole show worth watching and added to that is the great stories. A definite must watch TV show.

I was reading the books way before the show and now I love the show as well. I  have almost all of Kathy Reichs Books and its in them that you get to know Temperance Brennan well . The Bones TV Show has really done well this passed year  with better story lines and less jumping around. The first few shows of season 1 were a bit jumpy and I found that the people I recogmended the show to did not like it as much as I thought ,But now that the dust has settled  its perfect and very well done both characters are lovable and witty and so much fun with plenty of pent up romance to keep you watching... review »

Bones is one of my most favorite shows. the writing is witty and twisty and interesting. the characters are not just cookie cutters, like in some other shows. and the mysteries are inventive and sometimes mind-boggling. although the bodies can be kinda gory. not one to watch with the kiddies.

Bones is based on the books written by Kathy Reichs. I've not read the books, because i saw the show first, and i've found that reading the books afterward can be disappointing. I found this out after the Dresden Files was cancelled. I absolutely adored that show, so i read the books. Turns out the TV show...

I absolutly love this show. I was an avid fan of both Buffy and Angel. When David Boreanaz left Buffy I was sad but then he had Angel and that was a great show. Then when that show ended I was again sad. But I have to say of all three of his tv series I think Bones is his best yet. He is able to show more of himself as an actor in this show then ever before. I love the romance, drama and comedy of this show. It is so entertaining. And the chemistry between Emily and David is awesome. If you havent watched this show you have to give it a try.

Bones is currently in its fourth season! Stars Emily Deschanel as Dr. Temperence Brennan, a brilliant forensic anthropologist. She often travels the world to identify skeletal remains, and also works on FBI murder cases. She mostly works out of the Jeffersonian Institute (modeled after the Smithsonian) with several co-workers: Dr. Hodgins (T.J Thyne) an entimologist and also the comedian in the show; Angela Montenegro the resident artist/techy whom uses her talents to recreate the looks of the victim mostly for identification purposes, and Dr. Zackary Addy, a fellow forensic anthropolgy intern... review »

Bones is one of thebest shows on tv. It has consistent character development, never forgets who did what when and brings back story lines from previous seasons where they hadleft hanging because the "villian" had gotten away or it was complete in some way.

In addition to the crime aspect and lab scenes, the directors have take the time to develop personal relationships between the characters and show the impact that these relationships have on whatever case they are working on at the time. The chemistry between the cast members makes the show watchable without being over dramatic and over...
