Interesting plot lines with a female star who looks like she has

Bones is one of the few females in a mystery/suspense program who looks and acts like she has a bigger IQ than bust size and keeps her mind on the case, not a love interest.  The romance sub-plots are generally delegated to other characters.  The only time her personal life gets in the way of the main story line is when they bring in Ryan O'Neal as her criminal father.  The program benefits from the involvement of Kathy Reichs, the creator of the character in the series of books.
