I always love the 3-D experience, and this was a fun one. The story started out with Bolt as a comic book super hero, then changed into something much more predictable. Personally, I would have rather seen them do something original, rather than go for the heart-warming reunion tale. That said, there were moments in which the film played with reality and fiction, and that was cleverly done.
That said, I really fell for the Bolt character and John Travolta did an excellent job of bringing nuances to the voice. His "human" wasn't so compelling, however, although Miley Cyrus aquitted herself well, I thought.
Many of the characters were charming and amusing, but didn't really bring anything new to the genre. The special effects were great in the first chase scene, but didn't really live up to their potential throughout the rest of the movie.
I could definitely have done without the Hollywood in references, which I wish filmmakers would realize really don't appeal to anyone but those in the industry. We have truly been there and done that, and don't much care anymore, if we ever did.
